The war is wrong..I whole heartly disagree with it.but we shouldnt protest the war for a few reasons.. It makes the Men and women over there feel like they arnt supported.. We should protest before or after..not during..I would protest in a heart beat but weather its wrong or right we have to support them..share the love..peace
OK, who let bush join the hippie forums, but seriously thats a terrible reason not to protest, i support our troops even more so now b/c they are being put into harms way not to protect us, but a bunch of people who dont want us over there to begin wit, sound fimilar-VEITNAM anyone...
protesting the war is supporting the troops. it is supporting their safe return home as quickly as possible.
The troops of Vetnam came back and had shit THROWN at them..thats not very supportive..they went through so much and got home and where not supported..thats bull shit..can you say "tramitized for life"
I have not read of a single instance where troops returning from Iraq have been treated in such fashion and I am a news junkie from many sources. I have friends over there - they know that people who are against this war are not against them. It wasn't their decision. What is being protested is the decision to go to war and to stay at war. We are protesting the message (the administration's decision) not the messengers (the troops).
Your not friends with all the people over there..some might think that we are not supportive..i dont like the war one bit and think its tottaly not nessary but i dont think i would protest during
if nobody protests the war the Bush administration would see that they could do whatever they wanted, without the public standing up for themselves.
If people don't protest the war, how the hell are they supposed to tell governments they object to the war?
Are you friends with all the people over there? If so, send them all my love and tell them I'm thinking about them. Yes the returning soldiers got stuff thrown at them when they came back from 'nam, but that was then and this is now. I think people have realised that it's not the soldiers who are at fault, it's the people who put them in there. It's the politicians that fuck up, and then it's the good men and women who are sent to die for their mistakes.
make your colleges free and US wouldnt find any teenagers willing to die for oil. Most people dont even leave the state they are living in, people should know that the world isnt just US, hollywood and Americanism. I would not kill anyone unless he's invading my homeland.
I agree now about what you guys are saying and change my mind about protesting the war..Yes im 14 but you shouldnt hold that agenced me
how bout your spelling...can we hold that against you? i think when it comes to matters of war and politics, yes we can hold the fact that you are 14 against you...would you trust a 14 year old to direct troop movements, or to legislate bills? i certianly wouldn't. it's a matter of perception and experience. your not experienced enough to see whats going on, and your just begging to emerge to see the world for how it is, instead of how your parents present it to you. if you wanted to make a fire and you saw your friend struggling to chop up some wood....and say he put his hand on a log he was about to chop....would you wait until the axe fell before you told him it was a bad idea for fear of 'not supporting' the cause of getting firewood? your not protesting the individual soldier your protesting the people who tell them what to do.
hey its not like were protesting agianst the troops just the war itslef! so my opion is that its not wrong and we should start a protest!
trusting an opinion is a bit different than respecting one...and everyone has opinions be they 14 or 41
When my local National Guard unit was activated (last year during major combat), there were anti-war protestors lining the streets with signs and when the military convoys were going by people were throwing things, yelling derogatory comments, and flipping the middle finger to the soldiers passing by. Now, I ask you, is this any way to send off the young men and women who are fighting for your unappreciated freedoms??? (Not specifically referring to anybody here) I have absolutely no problem with any kind of war protesting before combat begins, but I think it shows the greatest lack of respect and patriotism to protest while our troops are in battle taking casualties. Sure, it is your right, but it is also your right to look like a fucking asshole. When I heard about those protesters on the news I felt like bringing the war to their stupid smug faces in the form of a Louisville Slugger.
I agree with everything else you said, except this. What freedoms are they protecting? We weren't invaded, and we seem to have lost freedoms since the war was started. But yes, hit those fuckers in the face with aluminum baseball bats. I'll be joining you. Watch Free Speech TV. You'll see the real stories, what they don't show on Fox or CNN....
