HEY, does anyone know the real title and artist of this song...from the 60s, goes something like, 'heyyy, carrie annne, whats your gaaame, can anybody playyy?' and then in the middle it has this lil steel drumish solo. ah, i love that song, whats it called? whos it by? im amazed at anyone who even knows this song.
yep mind garden see it clear... it's the Hollies If you're more interested in the hollies read those informations The Hollies are from Manchester - England (probably one of the most rock'n roll cities on earth) And they had a lot of succes between 64 and 71 ... they were really one of the greatest rock n roll or pop band of the 60's (commercially) but strangely a lot of people forget them...they were one of the most serious rivals of the Beatles ...they know how to evolve into the soft psychedelic pop sound...when the majority of others beatles copyist just don't knew how to evolve and disappear... the Hollies recorded a lot of albums until the 80's but not all are good ...from my point of vue ...they're quite good from 65 to 75 But if you specially like the style of "Carrie Anne"... those albums are their best with Graham Nash as leader of the band (Nash leave the Hollies in 68 to form the massive popular band Crosby Still Nash) if you like Carrie Anne those 3 albums (the 3 last with Nash at the command) and their most adventurous are : -For Certain Because- (late 66) this album is a little bit folk pop -Evolution- (mid 67) soft psychedelic pop album -Butterfly- (late 67) a bit more psyche than evolution They were very productive ...they recorded 3 album in 1 year !! And those are my 3 best Hollies records! and they were recorded at the same time as "Carrie Anne" !
amazed that anyone knows that song?? you can just turn it to some oldies station and hear it all the time. that song was supposedly about marrianne faithful....
no i don't think so ...but i'm not sure ... i think that it was recorded at the same time of the album Evolution in 1967
