so im wondering how to give myself a tattoo. i have some black indian ink and some green blue and black caligraphy ink. now my friend says that the way to do it is to carve what ever it is you want into your body, then rub ink over it. ive also heard that needles work better.

    any info?

    You don't.

    You don't do it.

There are multiple layers to skin, go too deep or too shallow and it'll either fade out or blur like crazy.

You are 15, your body is still growing, your final tattoo will distort.

Your parents will not appreciate it, it can get infected, the ink needs to be the right type or you can have reactions and/or poisoning.

Everyone I've ever known who's done the needle and thread trick has REGRETTED IT GREATLY eventually.

i remember when i was in middle school some of the kids had done that to themselves. one girl inparticular was my friend named Amber and she *one* of the self done tats she had was her name going down her leg in huge ass letters. not only was it totally crooked but it looked like absolute shit and she is stuck with that for the rest of her life.....or atleast a while unless it fades but at the time i knew her she already had it for some few years.

i didnt bother to see what your age is....if its posted?......but im telling you that you'll probably regret it. dont be so in a hurry to get tatted that you do something regrettable.....and self done tats never....IF rarely.....come out looking decent

i think weve all done silly things
but you have got to weigh up the risks with this one
tattoos if not done proffessionaly can so easily get infected and it can make you really ill
so id wait a while and save up for a good one

    It's a teenager thing...

eh, i don't think it's stereotyping - it's true. teenagers do that, cuz if he was an ADULT he could just go get one.

hboy, if ya start savin now you could get something way nice on your first go instead of making a future cover-up on yerself.

i do agree but in a less harsh way. i turn 20 in a few months, im still a teenager. I'm the youngest person in my university course.

I thought what i was 15 that it was a great idea to paint my bedroom dark purple and black. i swore i wouldnt grow out of it... and id didnt... for 3 years. ... now im 19 and not living in that room. i dread having to go back and paint it out. I enjoyed it while i was younger though.

however a tatoo is not a bedroom paint job. It CANT be erased. EVER! it can be covered up with another tatoo. or lazered off leaving scaring. Now i wanted a totoo. i didnt get it. i think now i probably wouldnt still want that tatoo... and the tatoo i want now...i might not want next year.

i know im a lot similar to who i was last than i was last year to the year before. between the ages of 14 and 18 is your forming years, you BECOME adults... but you arent one yet. your mind set is not of an adult. mine still isnt. im incredibly mature, i'm intelegant yes ... but im not an adult.

my advise to ANYONE who wants a totoo of ANY age... is draw it.... put it in a draw locked away for a year (which really isnt that long a time on the scale of things) pull it out a year later... if you still want it... then parhaps consider it... if not... dont.

and if you CAN get it done profetionally (as in if you dont live in a tribe in the middle of no where) then do. because its stupid to do it yourself. my frind isa profetional tatooist, she tatoos herself with all the profetional equipment, she never dream of doing a prison tatoo.

It wasnt the remark about teenagers do stupid stuff point that i found stereotyping. everybody does stupid stuff. but it was this one that bothered me...
but i mean whatever, to each their own. i dont think a thread in a forum will really sway anybody's core opinions. so this is kind of pointless.

Im assuming the reason youre wanting to do it yourself is because youre too young to get it done professionally. Like the rest, Im just gonna say there is a reason it is called PROFESSIONALLY done.

Anyway, if youre gonna do it yourself(dont) I think youd have better luck doing more of an ink rubbing where you carve the design into your skin and then rub ink over the whole thing. Even then, youll probably have to go over it several times(pain), youll get scarring(thats basically what an ink rubbing is a scar with ink), and youll be limited to really simple designs.

All in all, this is a stupid idea whatever your age. Ive got a friend who scratched the word SEX into his hand and he thinks it was a really stupid idea, and it was only a few years ago.

Tattoos are permamnent. Give them the time they deserve and theyll be beautiful for a lifetime.

    Peace

    buy some magazines.

just so ya know, tattooing is not a cut & rub process, basically ya poke the ink under yer skin with like a gazillion pokes. that's usually why yer homemade ones look like crap, cuz who really wants to poke themselves a gazillion times to make it look right? and there's tattoo ink, it's not just whatever dark liquid happens to be at hand.

research - take yer time. if ya know kids scarring themselves, at least encourage them NOT to do anything on their hands, wrists, neck. do it in a place that would be better for them to have a real tattoo someday. my hubby's done so many coverups...
