i didnt make this up, but a friend did today, and i thought it was really interesting...

if birds* never existed, would humans have dreamt to fly?

    *edit: ANY FLYING ANIMAL.

I believe the "fly" would have inspired us then. :p

That is crazy. I think if birds never existed, humans would still have wanted to explore the air and invent airplanes ... but I don't think they would "fly". it's action would have a completely different name. You could also say ... Would humans have wanted to explore the oceans if fish didnt exist? ... interesting stuff.

I think humans still would have wanted to fly. We don't know of any animal that lives in space, yet we still explore it. Humans as a species are naturally curious. Good thought though.

    Sure it would-they still fly.

As TheGodFather said, we still explore everywhere we find-inhabited or not.

I think we would have been more tentative to explore to ocean without fish, as it seems like there's not much to it unless you study the life within it. Not to mention I think it would be scary as hell...

if not birds or flys we'd eventually get the idea from something sucha as a leaf falling from a tree. Gliding its way back and forth to the ground.

Okay so there might be a method of transportation right now that we just can't think of because we haven't seen a [ie. bird] do it before. Like time travel or walking on water or something.

yeah, i sorta understand where yur coming from though. Like, we've proven that there are around 11 dimensions, but we have no idea what they consist of. We only have a vauge idea that the 4th dimension has somthing to do with space and time. And scince we have no experiance with any of the other dimensions, it's impossiable for us to know what they r like.

Oh man. I think that is intense as hell. There is so much more out there than we could ever comprehend! Someday our society would have advanced through those dimensions ... and be aware of them ... the whole meaning of existance would change. everything we belive now, would seem so simple and trivial. Crazy. It hurts to think about this man.

I think they would have, because you can enter oceans without fish. The sky, it would just seem like scenery, without knowing the possibility to travel it exists.

Of course, we did travel space. But that came after we realized the ability to fly with technology.

actually if any of these scenarios occured, theyd not be crazy.. they would have occured, so theyd just be normal life lol

if there were no birds, man might never have evolved?
if there were no birds then maybe there was only cannabis growing. no other life on earth
