Ok, that;s pretty much it. I was your garden variety nerd, a bookworm and I was surrounded by ignorant rednecks. End of story. Who else has been ridiculed during childhood?

I used to be picked on for being fat.
I knocked a punk out with a tackle.
That was the end of that.

    *raises hand*

Similar story. Your garden variety computer nerd (not a bookworm, but definitely a computer worm. Hmm, I think "computer worm" is already taken, let's just stick with geek), in a world of idiotic rednecks that think they're the shit and love being cruel for no reason.

    =\

yah, it takes around 8 years to truly get over it.
no big deal, though. move to a big city and prove you're better than them.

I was pretty much the quiet kid. Didn't do much talking unless it was totally needed. Didn't much mind though. I did a pretty good job of "being invisible" when needed.

But yea, highschool was a like a big, long joke with a crappy punchline.

I was in 7th grade at the same time. I totally remember the hair volcano. Strangely enough, I recall that every girl I had a crush on at that time had straight hair and funny glasses.

I was a sucker for nerd girls.

    :)

I honestly haven't had much problems since middle school, where they gave me hell. They made fun of me for everything to the point that I cried and then they made fun of me for that. Middle schoolers are the most insecure assholes in the world.

Really nobodys picked on me since I've started Highschool. Highschool is 1000x better than middle school.

So far in Highschool the only thing that has happened to me is on the last day of a term this guy I didn't know walked up to me and grabbed my nipple and twisted it really hard then walked away. It hurt bad, and I don't know who he was, or why he did it.

I grew to 6'4" and got long hair, and only a few people would mess with me. I've gotten in scraps before.

didnt get badly picked on but people have always made fun of my name. after hearing the same joke 5000000 times it surprisingly isnt very funny to me.

people still do it now.. im just pretty fed up with it. i give a verbal abusive whiplash to anyone who makes a joke.

Well going to an Australian primary school (and we all know how cultured most Australians are) was fun.
Being half Colombian -"is that in Africa?", born in sweden-""but your'e not blonde!", having a word for a first name -"Echo... why did your mum and dad call you echo?" and a hyphenated Spanish last name where the j is pronounced h, having avocado and vegemite sandwiches- "eew whats that green stuff??" (yeah thanks mum) and being the only girl who didn't play netball... because I did Flamenco instead.
    Lots of fun.
High school was more multicultural but being in a middle class, socially obsessed suburb, the ignorance used to make my head want to explode.
"why would the newspaper lie to us?"
    "the government wouldn't lie"
"If we cut down all the trees there will still be heaps of air"
"These boatpeople have no right to come here" (yeah cause it's not like Australia was founded on people coming illegally on boats)
Oh there were so many gems of wisdom coming from my classmates.
I was just outspoken in high school- being a vegetarian, feminist who had done drugs, had a nose ring since first year, didn't shun the kids that "came out" and didn't sleep around just got me labled as crazy but people still liked me.
It also made for alot of interesting class debates or me versus entire class. Though most of the teachers were lefties so I was loved by them.

  20. Same here, but it happened after high school. I also grew a spine, a personality, a brain, a soul, got rid of my pimples, stopped caring what people think of me, and forgave every person that ever bullied me...because i am twice their size in ways they can't imagine, and its probably all their fault, i had to become big out of necessity.

    Bullies lose out. really.
