so i started painting this lotus flower i'm no where near finished and this is all that i have done =S but just wanted to see what you guys think (here's what i have and what i'm tryin' to paint)
the proportions are a little off but im just wierd about those kind of things but it looks good man keep it up
You should try to focus a little bit more on thinking of the flower as a whole instead of painting it piece by piece. You can do this by picking a color and using it everywhere you see it in the photo. That way the entire painting will build up gradually and have a unified feel.
good idea =) but that was just the result of A.D.D. i had to stop, that much concentration sometimes kinda gets to me but yes, very good idea
It takes much more concentration to try to paint piece by piece. With ADD you would definately be better off with a looser style. Let your mind wander free. Use the picture as a basis for your inspiration, but try not to let it dictate what the final outcome should look like.
oh...i don't really have ADD........or do i...hmmm either way, it's a good idea but right now with this one, i'm gonna try it piece by piece since i started it that way but still thanx for the suggestion =)
Are you trying to do it very realistically or stylized in some way? I might suggest mixing the colors into eachother more whereas right now they are solid blobs of themselves. Does that make sense? Get looser with the paintbrush and use wispyish strokes. Agh I'm a terrible painter though so my advice is not very valuable. Just some input!
lol, no i have no idea what i'm doing i've never had an art class nor have i been painting that long i just want to paint that flower
