Ok, I have been with my guy for 4 years now. I am going to be turning 25 this summer. I had a talk with him a couple of months ago about getting married. He was all for it. I explained that I am ready to move forward with our relationship, and ready to start a family soon. Well...... I haven't seen any movement torwards the M_WORD.... We have lived together for 4 years as well. I know he is ready but why wont he do something about it??

Just this weekend we went to a really good friendswedding & he was telling me that he can't wait to marry me. He was saying we would get married this summer. I stated the fact that if he is serious then WE need to both be saving money for this summer. He really doesn't seem like he is wanting to talk about it. I asked him if he was serious about it & he says he is. I know he is a procratstinator but really. WHat should I do????????

i really think he was kidding about u buying the ring.

Well hun, i dont think there's much to it than waiting. If he says he's
for real on this it means he's probably waiting for a special date or
maybe he's planning something very cool and romantic to prupose, give it
some time, im sure he's finding the best way to do it.

I just love him soooooo much & really want to make it official. I am head over heels in love with him, even after 4 years.

Face it! You've fallen for one (of many) who's scared to death of commitment. Why women continue to chase that kind of man, I don't understand. Yeats said it best,
"All women dote upon an idle man
Although their children need a rich estate;"
    'idle' referring to the relationship.
You now know what the future hods.

After four years you either know they are the one or not. Since you have lived with him for so long, he is comfortable. He already knows that doesn't have to make things official- you could be in trouble.

Let him know how important it is to you!!!!!!!

Are you sure it's not total dependance?

His desires and actions will speak volumes about doubts that he has. The more you push, the more he will shy away. And if you seek to trap him with marital bonds, I hope he has the sense to run. Rather than go along with everything with no real thought on the matter and then find out he wants a divorce. Affair, anyone?

Tie him up and put him in the trunk of the car, and don't let him out until he says 'I do'!

You've been together 4 years....I'd say you're pretty official....why do you need a fancy ring to tell you that?

I'd imagine wanting to say 'this is my husband and my son'. Not this is my 'long-term boyfriend and this is my son'.
