Umm... I'll tell you when I get there. My oldest is 10, and my baby turns 6 next week.

Even for the wonder-mom's I know out there that seem to snap right back, it takes 6-12 weeks though. So I'd give it just a little more time. ((((((hugs!!!))))))
    love,

Maybe this is just the fat girl in me talking (okay, so that would be all of me... ;)) but I think more women need to embrace their post-child size. I mean, your body will NEVER be the same after bearing a child, and why would you want it to be? The extra few pounds/stretch marks/bigger breasts/whatever else is like your battle scar - you're a mama!

well my hips never... and two years after Noah was born I had lost the "weight" and was starting to tone up but hey! I found out weeks later I was pregnant again. lol Croix I lost alot of weight with within the 3 months between being pregnant with him and Noah. That was all from breastfeeding. Hang in there Zenia... keep breastfeeding is the only good advice I can think of. It really does help pull off some extra weight.

It took me about 3 months for all the swelling and puffiness to go down. Now I just have a flubbery belly. I think if I could tighten the muscles up it would be mostly back to normal. I don't think the loose skin will go away though. Breast feed like Earthy Mama said! It does really help!

it took me two years after DD1 was born to get back down to my pre-preg weight. I'll never be the same size or shape ever again, and that's okay. DD2 is two, and I have doubts I'll ever lose these last 20 lbs or so...

You just had a baby 2 weeks ago Mama! Go easy on yourself! Your uteris is still getting back to normal. It took 9 months for your body to prepare for the baby. Give it time. Nobody's body snaps right back. Like another Mama said - even the quick to snap back Mama's take at least 6 weeks. Eat well, and in a couple more weeks you can start walking (or whatever form of excersize) the weight off. Learn to accept the changes that motherhood has brought you for your body will never be the same again. Love your motherhood and your new, womanly body.

mamaboogie, your children are adorable. Back to the original post, it didn't take me long to lose the weight, only one week. My wife however is still working on it, breast feeding will help a lot.

I was one of the extremely lucky ones. I was back in my prepregnancy clothes immediately afterwards, in fact, I had people tease me and say that my kids couldn't really be mine because I didn't even look like I had been pregnant at all, even after I had my twins. But that really isn't the norm. In fact, I was surprised myself. Luck of the draw I suppose, my body bounced back quickly.

But you know, just had your baby 2 weeks ago. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You'll get there mama.

    {{{Hugs}}} and congrats again...

yeah, leane is a little over 4 months old, and I'm still working on it. I was usually 140 lbs at 5'2, and by the end of the pregnancy, I was 200lbs!!!!!!!! I lots the first 30 really easily, but now I'm having a hard time. I'm going to Curves, and am trying all these diets, and i've just been going between 170-173....grrrr.
it doesn't help that my dad, for example, the other day said that I'd better think about what I'm going to do with myself cuz I'm looking really heavy. GRRRRR!

Not all mamas will fit back into their clothes. I was a size THREE before I got pregnant. My rib cage had to expand to allow room for the baby, and my OB said that I would have a lot of clothes which would never fit again, also, in some womyn, the pelvis expands so much (during the pregnancy not just the birth) that your hips stay a bit bigger than before you had kids. Both happened to me. I NEVER got back into those size Threes.

I breastfed my kids, so I did lose most of the weight, but carrying a baby changes your body for life. It isn't a bad thing. Mama bodies are supposed to be soft and warm.

I was about 95 lbs before I got preg the first time, 20 years ago. I've been preg 6 times, 2 miscarraiges, and 4 babies, I now weigh between 110 and 115. That is about what I can expect.

Also, most womyn will hold on to up to 10 pounds while breastfeeding, as insurance against a famine or lack of water. Most mamas lose this later. But, you certainly lose the rest of it faster when you are breastfeeding. Making milk uses calories, and eats fat.

I just read the OP. TWO WEEKS. Honey, at two weeks I hadn't even lost all the fluid I had gained from the C section. Give it time honey, it took you NINE months to put the weight on, you will not lose it in a couple of weeks. Relax and enjoy your baby. Yes, you may need an "after baby" wardrobe. Most of the clothes I had before I had before my first baby not only didn't fit me, but was hard to breastfeed in, so buy some nice soft stretchy pants and some shirts which are easy to lift up to feed your little one.

Enjoy the baby and don't worry about the weight.

3 years on I accept that my hips are never gonna be where they were before!
due to being put to bedrest for my pregnancy I found that I have to work out loads at the gym to even begin to make dent in the changes my body made but to be honest I was way underweight for my height before so maybe only now am I starting to hit the right weight height ratios and stuff...I will probably never fit into my old clothes as they can't get over my hipbones but I have definitely found going to the gym has cut about 1 to two sizes deprnding on the brands...it has more importantly helped me to be able to pickup and cuddle and effortlessly lug around my munchkin when needed!
