Goddamnit! The jelly-spined Democrats are letting BUSH do whatever the fuck he wants to and half of them are going along with it. What does he have on all these people? Shit, even the "liberal media" seems to suck his ass. Just look at Chris Matthews gush over Bush or Katie Couric. I mean we are not just talking Rush Limbaugh and O'Reilly anymore. He pushes the Patriot (Fascist) Act on the backs of 9/11 fear. He spies on people and rubs it in our faces. He forgets Osama to go after Saddam based on false information. He fails with Katrina efforts. He has Republican leaders dropping in scandals left and right. He appoints SCalito and he is pushed through. Everytime he is nailed, he screams "TERRA TERRA TERRA"... WHEN THE FUCK WILL SOMEBODY STAND UP TO HIM WITHOUT SALUTING? SIEG HEIL! MEIN S.O.B.! How does this goddamned cowboy clown get away with all this shit?
I may be a Buddhist, but all I can say is may God have mercy on us all. Say goodbye to the last 50 years of social and political reform people, cause we're going backwards in time. It will be very interesting to see what happens when abortion is outlawed again. Well looks like I better start making Malatovs cocktails
Because Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same corporate owned coin, Lib. You should understand that by now. Neither Party represents the average citizen, merely the minority elite and their corporate financiers who have put in them office in the first place.
Molotov cocktails for everyone, is right. So much for our civil liberties... Goodbye freedom of choice.
Much more fundamental aspects of our Constitutional democracy have been lost than freedom of choice. The entire three-branch checks and balances mechanism of government has now been consolidated into the hands of one ideological school of thought. Welcome back to 19th century imperialism abroad and authoritarianism at home.
If this is true, I can't imagine the democratic side is doing quite as well considering the huge gap in campaign finance.
Either side in its turn suits, thats the point. Give the public the appearance of choice, which is never any real choice and when that runs its course or cocks up, champion the other horse as the alleged "answer", which it never is.
By freedom of choice, I wasn't indicating just abortion...I was talking about any choice that we should be able to make as Americans, including the freedom to choose who we fall in love and marry.
Wow, you people are just as big of nut jobs as the people you call right wing nut jobs, except more paranoid then Fox Mulder and a someone who is being stalked by a serial killer put together.
A fine speech which might rally nobler comerades than Mr. Kerry possesses, in the midst of a pathetic reminder to all that much of the Democratic caucus is still supine at the feet of the Republican party. A party with any self-respect at all would strain every sinew to filibuster this appointment.
... continued speech: Who wants this judge on the Supreme Court? Why? Christ. Yeah. I think that this appointment would worsen the abortion situation in the United States, but I'm chiefly worried because Alito is the poster child for "The Government is Always Right and Has Infinite Powers." That, to me, is functionally usually the opposite of the point of having a supreme court, at least in a democracy. When you look at the tortured logic he applies to justifying blowing the heads off and/or strip searching kids, you already know how he'd rule on things like the government reading your e-mail, the police checking up on you and making sure you're keeping your nose clean, etc.
Yes, its the conservative apocalypse! Or maybe not? In his first vote, he votes against an execution. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/02/01/alito/index.html Maybe time to ease of the scaremongering a bit?
