So according to the SDA food pyramid, you should incorporate fruits and veggies, whole grains and beans and legumes into EVERY meal.....so my question is...What beans and legumes would go good with with my morning oatmeal or muesli?....the only thing i have tried with it before is soynuts, cause not much else is very appetizing with breakfast....wait and i have mixed peanut butter in with my oatmeal......I was wondering if yall had any ideas? much love.

I just can't follow the food pyramid quite that rigidly myself. It's easier for me to have a double-serving of protein at one meal & skip it for the next, than it is to come up with something for every meal.

But... nut-butters on toast are pretty good, and sometimes I'll have beans & rice for breakfast instead of cereal. Or maybe you could make a "milk" shake with peanut butter in it? I've got one heck of a chocolate peanut butter shake recipe rattling around here somewhere. I could dig it up if you're interested :)
    love,

    would chopped walnuts suffice?

I eat amall portions so "all the groups in a meal" theories are kind of useless for me. I look at the day/ week over all.

I'm not into following the pyramid religiously. I listen to my body, rather. I think everyone is different, and requires different amounts of such and such a nutrient.

And, I'm not a breakfast eater either, but I would suggest like toast, with peanut butter, maybe jelly/jam if you like... a glass of either like, soymilk or carrot juice.

Something like that. I eat shit like that for dinner all the time.

OTHERWISE, instead of nuts and legumes, just go for the protein [which is what the nuts and legumes are good for anyway] and try out some mock breakfast "meat" like veggie sausages or veggie bacon.

Soy milk, soy yogurt, a handful of amonds, a handful of walnuts, almond butter on toast, peanut butter on bagel, nuts chopped up in cereal, soy protein powder in a fruit smoothie, soy nuts mixed in yogurt.
