How is getting drunk related to getting high? They are two totally different things.

 

It is intoxication... there is a simularity if you wanna get technical

 

yea i wasnt saying there the same thing, just the intoxication part.. personally i just think its sacreligious (sp?), im no minister tho

But I think the problem with getting drunk is how it affects your judgement, and makes you do things you normally wouldnt do. The same cant be said for smoking.

 

The reason I say this is bc I believe Jesus used cannabis

Was it just against getting drunk not drinking.
Because didn't Jesus drink wine a bit?

Because if your relating drinking to getting high.
And Jesus drank,
You would have to also look at the differences of being really blazed to being just a little high.
Thats if you want to keep the comparison fair.

Well I think it talks about how your supposed to be the master of your body, and how you shouldn't harm it because its a temple to God, or something. Its not like weed is anything remotely dangerious compared to almost everything else on Earth (like zombies), so if you can keep control while your high, your set.

That is, if you believe in that sort of thing.

 

in many traditional cultures around the world, burning things is the most common form of linking to the spiritual world through the physical world.

for example, native indians would smoke tobacco, and invoke a prayer within the smoke, and as the smoke is exhaled, the method of prayer is conveyed.

many christian ceremonies involve burning things at sacrificice. burning the bible is differnet to SMOKING the bible. then it jsut becomes an issue of whether you agree on smoking weed or not!

Something seems horribly wrong about doing that. I mean I'm a christian and would never use the bible, but I would also never use the koran, or torah, or whatever other holy books you can name. I mean really, if it comes down to the point you have nothing normal to smoke out of, and can't buy any papers or anything, just make a pipe out of a soda can.
