Jim Croce or Cat Stevens?

    I don't like Cat Steven's voice very much. I prefer Jim Croce's more depressing folk style.

    I can see where your coming from, but Cat's got a more bluesy feel to his music

    Good call. I prefer Jim Croce's fingerpicking, but I also like that Cat can make such simplistic chord patterns into such intriguing arrangements.

    i think it is a standard country-folk tune...that or possibly the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

    well finally a 2 artist comparison that are very similar in style . and not the Queen vs Deep Purple or Black Sabbath VS Led Zep.

    croce hands down....he was such a great storyteller with a great voice..cat stevens just bores me....i think croce is haunted by his leroy brown song but if people dug deep into his collection they would find some amazing poetry.
