A dose of reality from one who has been there. You have three kids to feed and classes to attend. Set it aside gor YOUR greater good. Our intellect gives us the power to choose our battles. And never forget Ecclesiastes. To everything, there is a season.
i just think the job isn't for me. besides the meat. i don't like the gossip. i don't like the owners. i don't care much for the other employees.. they're okay folks.. just don't wanna work with them. and the customers are getting on my nerves
thats just not true ....animals eat waste n silage n off graising land that wont make people food ....in purto rico , when the yuca stayed in the ground too long n couldnt be eaten the oxen plowed it up n ate it . does a head of lettuce farmed by mistreated slaves in california and chem bombed n driven in a truck on a highway make sense ? no . neither does meat from chicago ....its the scale and destructive for profit mode its made in thats bad ...not the type of food . in a clean n sustainable systen . animals eat only waste and provide a battery that stores food up for when you need it ....im not trying to be an asshole and would be delighted to talk about it to anyone . i just cant be bothered to type it all out .this is a very important topic n i know i havnt completely expounded on just where we agree n where i found theese speciouse theories not working when i made my own food without gasoline or electricity .
You obviously don't know me, Cowboy. My life is a lot different from what it was 15 years ago. Answering your questions would serve no purpose. I'm not who you think I am. And I'm not proud of what I did in while brainwashed. But you are sooooooo wrong.
Man has always been very good at satisfying his blood lust and then finding ways to justify it. It goes back beyond the Roman Empire. Kill your brother and take what is his because you can.
hunting and using the whole animal for food and clothing etc etc.. is one thing. buying your factory farmed meat in a grocery store is a totally different story. all these people you keep talking about.. all lived short lives.. 40, maybe 50 years. some of them even died out all together.. doesn't that make you wonder?
factory farmed grains n veggies laced with poison and labored over by hoplessly poor people are good ?
you need to do some reseach you know the reason those plants are sprayed with pestisides and such, is because the factory farms demand on them to produce more and more, faster and faster. go back about 40, 50 years and look and see what was going on then
chimps are inherantly nasty n violent ....so are savage humans ....athority , civilization [yuck] and modern war come fron a proto problematique within the minds of humans ....
What evidence do you know of that indicates that humans were once "inherently peaceful"? This seems like wishful thinking to me. However, I agree that it's deplorable how we keep cows and chickens and pigs in such terrible conditions just for our consumption. It's tantamount to animal abuse. It would be much more humane to let them roam free and then hunt our food like the other animals do. (no sarcasm intended)
People are likely more peaceful as a group than at anytime in the past...think of the middle ages, the roman empire etc...and you know early man was bashing the hell out of anything that got between him and a mammoth
Yeah, and don't forget how cave men used to bash their chosen woman over the head and drag her away by the hair....it's all true...
Exactly, see now we use drugs to render them unconcious...things really aren't as violent as in the past.
Funny part is I read this thread while eating a delicious plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, scrapple and a refreshing tall glass of Grade A homogenized whole milk. Dead serious.
Milk... ew. Scrapple... Mmmmm. PS- we're going ovo-lacto as soon as we clean out the freezer and cabinets. PPS- Boogabaah, I'm sorry if my normal flirtyness might be an issue. It's just me, I don't mean anything by it. I truly am happily married. OTOH, if anything should happen to celtgrrl, as soon as I'm done grieving you'll be the first person I'll cook vegan Thai for.
