    High All,

3rd week in to my first growshow and everything is ticking along but I have 3 doing really well and in the first stages of fast vegetative growth. I just looked on one today and saw that there were some really tiny holes near the base of one of h main learf hands. Around the holes were small yellow discolourations. I saw some toxic salts build-up and wiped them gently off with pure water (deionised). I have been putting in a small amount of Miracle Grow (But after seeing a post that it tastes sucky, I'll be swapping it shortly!) and wondered if that could have anything to do with it too.

Anyway: What is going on - can you help? What can I do about the holes, they are very small. The growshow is well ventilated, a 600w bulb, and there are the 9 plants in individual 3 gallon pots, watered every few days. I am sure I have no mites / nasties.

In case you were interested, I'm growing some Durban Poison, Ice & Lowryder; only 4 seeds of each to test out a grow run initially - fingers crosed on th amount of females :)

Anyway, like I said EMERGENCY!!! Quit reading already; get typing!

If there are holes in your leaves, something's munching them.

Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there.
Look for spider mites; they live on the underside of the leaves (mainly) and are about the size of a period. Use a magnifying glass.
Get rid of them by using an insecticide that's made for veggies. Make sure the label says "safe to use until day of harvest".
Lightly mist your plants (making sure you get the undersides), then the next day mist with plain water.
Keep up this cycle for 2 weeks.

I dont know much about growing Cannabis, but I do know that those big fat green worms eat the hell out of my tomatoes every year. They might eat Cannabis too.

Only bugs make holes. I agree, it must be borg(spider mites). They are the hardest to get rid of. Are there house plants near by? Do you let pets in your grow room? The only way I ever got completely rid of them was to take down the grow, and literally bug bomb everything and then scrub it all with bleach.

Kind of like getting the crabs. They get into everything and are almost impossible to get rid of during an active grow. Good luck, you're going to need it.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks fro the help. The holes wtopped appearing - I think I over fertilised in the early days and I have a quite a hot 600w which I thinkj burned the holes in now! I did a leach and teh problem stopped.

In the meantime I ahd a magnesium deficieny and then a Pottasium deficiency, which are just about sorted - hard work this growing gear!

I'm about to harvest my singel lowride plant so I have somethng to smoke (no matter how tiny and weak, but I haev to say - it's one completely big bud compared to teh size of the plant) while I wait for my Durban Poison and Ice plants - I've got one Ice motherfucker called stinky and another called monster - they have some proper strong genetics, looking froward to finally sampling a cannabis cup winning strain!

    Thanks again,

    Grownuts
