I believe it is a Pedal Steel Guitar....i think some ppl also call it a slide guitar.

It is like the neck of the guitar attached to a board and dont konw much about it. I hope that helps.

actually, its not what kind of guitar u need but what effect u should use. I suggest using a really clean effect (u should get an equalizer pedal for that) and put a little vibrato effect with it too, it helps.

Smoke up!... btw kick ass song to listen to while ur blasted

tis a slide guitar. I was reading about the production work on 'dark side..' in a book called 'good vibrations-a history of sound production'. The main part that was used with a synth is 'on the run' and that was a 'vcs3' suitcase synth.

If anyone is interested in seeing a little behind the scenes of the production of 'dark side...' then check out 'pink floyd-live at pompeii'. Between
songs, there are some shots of them working in abbey road.

Also there is a dvd called. 'The making of dark side of the moon', with band interveiws and a technical overveiw of the production.

Sadly though, this is my least favorite floyd album.

    I own a VCS3.

I don't think think they used one in 'Breathe,' but they used one in 'On the Run' and several other tracks on that album.

And yes, what you hear in 'Breathe' is a slide guitar.
