Just a wee introduction to say howdy.
I'm Tom, a hippy bloke from Belfast in Ireland. Love this site, it's really great.
A while ago a mate of mine tried to sum up the Hippy culture (in Belfast) by writing a play, called "Hippos in the Shower", about a hippy who hallucinates and sees a big hippo one day when he's in the shower. The play proceeds from this starting point, and from there the "hippy trippy hippo" sets him on a great voyage of discovery, both internal and external.
I was one of the hippy guys in the show, playing a weird character called Pete! As the actors were all basically hippies and, as y'all know only too well,we hippie types are mad into our music, the play was essentially a musical and there were loadsa songs throughout.
The performances were successful and sold out all three nights in Belfast, so the hippy word is spreading in Ireland and we'll be performing it again soon. ROCK!
Peace amigos, nice to meet you all

    Thanks folks!
Who knows Capezio, maybe you can come visit us over here the next time the show's on and see it!
lol, I see you have a Cillian Murphy obsession Ms Necklace ;) Irish men seem to be in fashion at the moment in Canada & America, and as far as I'm concerned I think that's a gggrrreeeaaattt thing!!! :D

Hey guys, thanks for the extra welcomes, just spotted 'em! They warmed the cockles of me old Irish heart! :)

I sent 'Holp' a PM and it looks like he might be coming to a hippy night at a local music venue in Belfast that some friends and I are putting together next week, which is great! There'll be music from a FANTASTIC Irish hippy band and the DJ will be spinning Stones, Beatles, Doors, etc., all night. The 'Woodstock' docu-film will also be playing on a big plasma-screen throughout, and everybody'll be dressed up to the nines in their finest flairs and kaftans! Plus if we're lucky we can get some psychedelic projections going on an old projector that sometimes decides to work for us.

I just wish the rest of you guys could come and hang out too...

Cool! My friend on the drums, Bongo John, is the same age as me and is a hippy as well. There are a fair whack of us around Ireland for some reason. The band are called Muinzer Black, but I'm in another band called The Half Stoned Cowboys with two old-timers who were vintage hippies back in the '70s and are STILL mad hippies. I guess a good thing lasts!
