I've just started sewing about 3 months ago and I've came out with all of these on my own from scatch. Let me know what you think and if you have tips or comments. They would definatly help... I'm also thinking of starting up an online shop selling some stuff... if anybody has done it, is it worth it? Let me know!
Awesome job! Your patchies look great! If your interested in selling online try Etsy..... that is where I have my store (TwistedStitches)
Ooo, the first pair are very art-gallery-esque, hehe. They all look great! Very good for 3 months behind ya.
yeah, i think they're nice too. one suggestion - take this as you may - i personally iron the patched material prior to assembling it into pants. that way, the patches lie flat rather than...not as flat.
You are off to a really great start! I think it's a great idea to sell some of your stuff once you've got it down pat. There's alot more available for us mama's than the papa's so I think you could do well if you do it right. I was going to suggest the same as Kayte. ALWAYS pre-wash your fabrics and iron them before cutting. After you've done the patchwork iron the seams open - or flat to one side if you're serging or over-casting. You're iron is your best friend when you're sewing! Iron all your hems up before you sew - you'll really appreciate how much easier it is to stitch them when you've done this and how much better your goods will look. I would also recommend trying a simple pattern as it will really give you some understanding on how stuff should go together and little tips on how to make things just right. In any case, for 3 months you are doing an awesome job! HTH!
mmm... you are not quite ready to sell, but you are almost at the gifting/ clothe yourself entirely in your own stuff phase. the brown pants look too amateur still (the threads hanging, mostly) but, with some thought about color and maybe finding some distinctibe fabric for some details, you have a great start.
great job. i agree to start selling after you got the hang of it and can make your seams sturdy and professional. patterns also help
same here. it's very awesome. i was just looking at the pictures, then i scrolled up and saw the "male" and i was like "whoaaa you rock!" haha random.
