Been searching to jam with others but have not found anyone else that is really out there. Does any else have this problem? Maybe its because of where I live (L.A.area) too much commercial type stuff going on here. What do you think?

While not everyone plays it, I usually find some guys who venture into the freakout with me. Alot of it depends on the psych in question, and how far into orbit they are willing to play!

but where i am, LA usually means Lower Alabama, so finding people to jam with can be an odd thing compared to where others are.

i'm in alabama too and it's extremely hard to find people into the same music as me...there's blues and bluegrass musicians and a good bit of country pickers and i jam with them since i love that music...but finding folks into the other stuff i wanna jam on like funk, reggae etc. or just jamming on trippy stuff for a while.
it's not to bad though, i'm only 14...i've got myself a good bassist who is into it and he also plays mando and am training this fellow to beat the drums...in due time, i will have a good band...can't wait.

I've got the same problem, in rural mid-michigan. Not really much up here in terms of psychadelic rock. I know one guy who would be cool to jam with some time, but that's all.

Yeah, I love to psychedelicly play at times, it's kind of part of my repitoire, if you will.. But I'm-a-just One Person, so in comparisson with say, Pink Floyd, I Am but a budding flower...[IMG]

if only there was a country for hippies.

then no one here would have to look very far for someone like them!

We can then all jam together and make psychedelic music:p

This is why we need to get some island all to ourselves. All the kynd people could live there and have our own community. Maybe the Rainbows should look into it? Would need some kind of security, of course..

Maybe you should put up a poster somewhere? Something to get the attention of other psy players?

I was a Part of The Port Watson Project in the mid-90's consisting of a small group of Free-Thinking Individuals who tried to buy an Island in the Bahamas (in the Caribbean!) and Start an Intentional Community of Free-Thinkers, Artists, Musicians, Magicians, Hippies, New-Aged Eco-Friendly Inventors; people like US, or more to the point US..

The law in the Bahamas at the time was, the police were prohibited from patroling privately owned Islands, and the D.E.A. was prohibited from flying over Inhabited Islands! (The laws may have changed!!)

Fortunately, My Mother, Father and I were a part of This Intentional Community Island 'Idea,' The Away Team in fact, to ensure potential investors were happy and comfy and well fed, and we lived on An Island in the Caribbean - Bahamas! - (For the most part of 1993, actually.) And it's changed my Life.. I actually felt free!

Unfortunately, The Project Ran Out of Money, we Could Not Yield Enough People's interest, Investors of Money, for the Intentional Community, the project ran out of money, and we had to come back to the states.. [IMG] ...

We (The Port Watson Project) has a Yahoo Group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_People_of_the_Island_Dream/

Many members of the Port Watson Project are Still looking for a suitable Island.. (And This IDEA, of course, takes LOTS of Money! And then again, there are LOTS of US "Out There," So...)

If you guys Are Serious About Buying an Island, which I'm certain that more than Half of you are - to remain free, to enjoy a healthy enlightening experience in an Eco-Friendly Enviroment of only Friends and Family ect., I'm here to say, Not Only Can It Be done, but Needs to be..

Now, from first hand experience, once the island is owned, we would all have to start from scratch, take a few months to build housing, and a community - and everything that goes along with that, blueprint ideas, water catchment, solar/electricity, etc...

Brother, take and post this in the rainbow family board! You have some great insight on this, having been a part of a similar project yourself. I think the idea is feasible.
