We human's are not perfect, but there may be some peace in the world. When I ask for peace I don't ask for everybody to be perfect, but to be civil, respectful, loving, helpful, and to care about our health, which also involves nature, animals, and the universe. we will always make some mistake, disagree, and or falter at getting along with other types of people. Perfection never works, but neither does chaos. Teamwork can work, though.

No, peace comes when people say even if you are determined to shoot me I won't shoot you. I will resist, I will refuse to comply, I will even sabotage, but I will not kill.

That's the courage and compassion that changes hearts.

It's kinda sad that my hope for peace went down with ship. We suck each other up to meet our own needs. We can't get it right in our own backyards and homes. Everyone is afraid of everyone else. It's really quite funny if you watch us. Rainbow clan sounded cool but I found out that even the best Kitchen Captains reak havok beyond the forest. Good luck!

the dodo became extinct for the same reason the sabertooth tiger did. it was out competed for the same food source. NOT because something 'bigger' or 'meaner' came along and ate it up!

the pretense that peace=stagnation is the biggest big lie of all time.

i'll aggree that more people seem to be saying they want peace because they believe they are expected to then actualy give a dam one way or the other.

but peace IS desireably because the destraction of being beaten over the head is one of, if not the, biggest obsticals, to creating and exploring, which are the real sources of gratification.

    2Pac said:

"Fuck peace 'cuz the streets got our babies."

I used to be a big dirty pacifist, but now I understand why he said that.

Not that I don't believe peace is possible. But there's a lot at stake out there and we (as individuals) have to protect what is ours.

  10. Please explain man, do you have any real dignified reason to back that statement or have you just been sucked into the lies of mainstream media too?

I call sucked into the lies of the main stream media.
    And I believe in peace.
It's not to say that there will be no murders/thefts/bickering etc :(
But if war is so natural, name another animal... just one that sets out to exterminate its own kind.

Is this a reply to me?

Well let's see, I said that

A: I understand why 2Pac said what he said (not necessarily that I share the feeling entirely).

B: We as individuals have to protect what is ours.

What I was driving at with this is basically this:

Sometimes people try to take things from us that don't belong to them. Personal property, as well as the more intangible and important thing: our general happiness and freedom. Yes, some people do try to make others miserable simply because they themselves are miserable.

I believe I have a right to be happy, as well as to keep my personal property. So when someone tries to infringe on either of these things, I feel it is my responsibility to protect myself. I don't like violence, and I will do anything I can to avoid violence as a route for doing this. But I absolutely will not back down when my happiness or property is at stake. So some sort of conflict is inevitable.

I enjoy a good conflict, and I actually see violence as a failure on both sides to come to a resolution that allows them to get what they want from each other. But conflict is inevitable, and until everyone becomes a master of solving conflict, for a period of time violence will be inevitable. It's not good or bad, it's just the way it is.

But I do believe that eventually true peace is possible. I see violence merely as part of the process. We have to fail first in order to know what it takes to succeed. Tell me if that makes sense.

  13. Makes perfect sense ;) I often think very similarly... as long as you know where to draw the line, and if you draw the line past this stupid war then your asking for a pretty ugly world

I don't think animals have to power to exterminate their own kind but I bet they would if they had a chance kill each other on a great scale yes.

Take the cat world, this is indicative of every single cat from a small tabby cat to panthers, lions, cheetahs etc.

Male cats fight with other male cats for territory in the same way humans seem to fight for territory. We do it with guns, cats do it by leaving a rather unpleasant smell. Have you ever seen two domestic cats fight? They aren't messing around and I bet if they had machine guns and knew how to use them they'd kill each other.

Dogs are the same. Dogs will fight with other dogs and its not lack of willpower that would see them not kill another dog.

Apes and Monkeys also fight and there is a certain male order to any group of apes or monkees.

This kind of pisses on your fire on this subject doesn't it.

We are talking about war, not fights and murder.
I never said animals dont kill eachother in individual or territorial circumstances (in which we are alike) , I said they dont try to exterminate chunks of their entire species.
Mabye if you understood the argument, you wouldn't have pissed all over your own.
    Thanks...
At least I didnt have to.

Maybe animals don't do it because they can't do it not because they don't want to.

  17. Exactfuckingly Gary. Because it blows the natural order of things off the planet. The fire is out Gary, zip up your fly and walk away.

Wars cannot be attributed to some sort of primitive urge to "fight over territory", they are highly organised and the decision to go to war requires input from groups of highly educated individuals....ie. The United Nations, The United States Government. Its not like they're running around with sticks going ooga booga, we're hungry, lets fight with the unga bunga tribe and steal some of their food (in which case the victims of tribal wars were rarely ever women and children). Its more like they're sitting there with pencils and books in a big room, calmly discussing the pros and cons and eventually deciding - We need control of Iraq's Oil supply, lets send in a highly organised team of well armed troops and bomb the fuck out of the place. Lets not worry about the women and children - we need to do it as quickly and as cheaply as possible.
