I am from Canada, and I am always always always hearing about how absolutely horrid it is in america, I have been to buffallo and detroit, I hated it, but those are big cities...whats america really like>?
America isn't THAT bad. I mean, yeah our government is fucked up, but whose isn't? Compared to third world countries, I think we have it pretty good. It's just like anywhere else..it's got it's advantages and disadvantages.
That's Pretty Funny, I Live In Georgia Which Is South East United States. I Am Constantly Hearing About How Bad Cananda Sucks... But I Guess That's Because Liberals/Democrats Are Not Too Common Here...
We shoulda went green here in Canada. Well only time will tell the tale of whats to come from the conservatives.
America is what you and how you make of it for yourself. Big cities suck, if your into nature. In that case you can CHOSE to live on the outskirts of the major cities I do, 300 miles form one of 2 in this state. Most of the country is rural, And as like any where else, one may chose to live in this world. Just like anywhere you chose to live> Money has allot to do with where you live and the quality of life your use too. I see it like this: If you live in a big city allot of folks get caught up in chasing the money. If you chose live in the country side, people are a lot kinder and are more tolerant, Patience and grounded. I'm sure every county is the same. Bottom line is; it is up to you to create you own happiness, ether if your in prison or living in your personal Paradise. Cheers
Right, it's so horrid in America, because Canada and America are so different...... Detroit though, yea, Detroit has a pretty bad reputation even in America.
Our political system is all talk, so the conservatives will do what everyone always did, make slight changes, hope everything works out. I did not vote for that shit, I voted new democratic.
We may be a nation of idiots but it's not that bad of a country to live in.It could be a whole lot worse. It's whole lot better to live in this racist country than some third world country.
I figured the governing were strictly idiots not having the opportunity to be racists concurrent w/being idiots. Guess I missed that one...*g*
Yeah I was like wtf when greens only got one seat. I thought for sure more people would have voted for them this year but I guess people are still tied down to the older safer way of life.
I think no matter where you live your gonna hear how bad it is across the border! Could propaganda; a way to keep you paying taxes in the country you live. Like Sugarmaggie said; An I hole heartily agree with Cheers
The US has 300 million people and 50 separate state governments. Saying "It is horrid." is a bit of a naive thing to say. The President sucks, no doubt, but he isn't the ENTIRE country. There are 300 million other people, other than him. I can't say "What it's like." in the US because it depends on where you live, what kind of job you have, what kind of home you live in, how YOU look at and govern your own life ect. Look at the government, The Patriot Act sucks (and is probably temporary, I hope) the Constitution is not. The country, like many others, is in flux. I think I could say living in Sub Saharan Africa is a "horrid place" (no water, no food, police state bullies setting people on fire for no reason, the persistance of slavery in many places ect) could be said, but the US is a country like any other. There are parts which suck and others which don't.
America and Canada really aren't that different. There are some really great places here in the US, and then you have places like Kentucky. Unless you like Fried Chicken, stay away! But for the most part, it's pretty cool, I'm doing what I want in my life, I have several friends, I'm going to school, a low paying job... I don't really envy anyone.
