The Saxophone Orchestra of Great Britian. It's not jazz, but there are enough saxophones to suit your fancy. Look them up on G--gle, I think they've got some excerpts on their website.
new or old. Best new stuff is Jeff Coffin from the Flecktones, put out a solo album a little while ago. www.jeffcoffin.com He's a saxomophone player.
want a little Skerik? with band names alone, he's worth the twisted price of admission: Crack Sabbath, Dead KennyGs, Black Frames (we call it Satan's Lounge Band at home) Ponga and Garage a Trois. Skerik (def of the John Zorn sqwonky sax line) is a dark creepy force in the nicest of ways.
grover washington and dave brubeck of course there are also some really good versions of "A Night In Tunisia" by charlie parker That have amazing sax solos in them
CHARLIE HUNTER also....charlie hunter quintet, or Garage a Trois' (all charlie hunter groups) hes an 8string jazz guitarist but his saxophone player can tear shit up man. CHECK EM OUT
well, as your attorney i advice you to deff check out the Seven Sensationall Saxophones Name says it all. hope you enjoy peace
I was searching my campus-wide filesharing network the other day for a candy dulfer album that I used to own but got stolen - and came across an album entiteld "Sax for Sex". Track list looked promising. Candy Dulfer was on there, hence the search result, as well as Eric Marienthal, David Sanborn, Spyro Gyra, and even Kenny Sodding G. Thought 'this has got to be worth a look, even for a laugh'. Imagine my disappointment when I got a load of badly synthesised pop tunes that didn't even match the titles of the songs. And the sad thing was that when I asked the chap from whom I'd downloaded the files he just pointed me to a link with the tracklist on there and said no more. He must have genuinely believed he was listening to these great players (and kenny G too!). Poor bastard.
