holy shit! why didn't anyone ever tell me soy milk tasted good?! i've had plenty of vegetarian and vegan friends who drank soy milk and insisted it was good, but they were all the people who spouted off about how evil folks are for drinking milk or whatever and figured soy milk was just the best alternative available, a poor imitation. i'd heard from most nonvegans that soy milk wasn't any good. well, for the past two days i've lived off of mostly soy milk based drinks. soy espresso drinks at work. hot soy milk and chai concentrate mixed with some swiss miss at home. glass of plain soy milk. soy milk to swallow some pills. soy milk soy milk soy milk. ive gone through a whole half a gallon my mother bought my last night already, and then on top of that is the drinks i've had at work anyway, i've heard so many people say its good for you and is a good substitute for milk, but i figured it was just another gross, bland, imitation-foodstuff like veggy burgers and tofu.....i'd not had good luck with enjoying most "soy" foods before, with the exception of toasted salted soybeans eaten like peanuts. but now i find this stuff is great. i dont know if its as nutrtitious as milk, but it tastes good and has to be better than drinking pop all the time. i'm drinking the last of a glass which marks the end of my half gallon. people should stop calling it soy MILK or a MILK substitute. its milk-like, but its not milk and i think it's great in its own right. plus i just kind of think real milk is tastey and nutritious, but gross just by virtue of it's animal origins. i mean i eat meat and cheese and all, but something about a glass of milk unsettles me a bit. i've always wondered why we dont instead sell human milk in stores? i mean, cows milk, goats milk, all that stuff is designed to nourish cows and goats. i figure it would probably be healthier for humans to be drinking human milk....i like cows milk, but i dont drink a glass of milk often at all just because drinking a cows bodily fluids puts me off mentally. oh well. add this to the list of inumerable stoned tangents on this website....
soy milk is more nutritious for you than milk, at least the kinds i've tried. not a big fan of it though.
I won't eat anything with soy in it. First of all, most of the soy found in various foodstuffs are from genetically modified soybeans. Secondly, soybeans contain estrogen.
i had 8th continent or whatever, but at work we always use silk. i think i like silk better for coffee and such
I love soymilk. I like mixing it with Hershey's syrup. But I mostly like it just plain. Supermarkets sell them with vanilla flavoring which isn't bad, but I'll stick with plain.
mmm, soymilk. vanilla light is yum, but the plain is great. I get one from So Good that is labelled GE free and has vege based omega 3 and 6 and folate in it. but yeah, soy milk is yum, and it is nutritious too - it's got calcium, it's low GI, and it cholesterol free.
I buy organic Silk soymilk... they sell a big box of it in Sams for 13.95 or something. Almond Breez Vanilla is great also... and recently I found Walnut and Oat milk by Pacific, they taste great especially with cereals
I've grown up drinking Soy, Rice, Almond and Oat milk... theres no way I'm going back to animal milk.
http://www.nutiva.com/nutrition/recipes/milk.php great recipe to make your own hemp milk...super yummy! Soy milk tears my guts up!
Yes Happy Trees! Silk in White Russians is heavenly. I am partial to the vanilla flavored stuff. I like soy and regular. I actually get both cause it depends on my mood.
Soy milk rocks my world, Bonsoy organic brand is heaven. Cows milk tastes like fat. I wont touch the stuff.
Soy milk is bad for you, it contains bad chemicals, but i admit it is really nice. I go for organic yoghurt, it tends not to have the bad shit in milk. Rice milk is good but it tastes horrible. And almond milk is lovely but you can't get it in my state. Just my two cents. Anyone had chocolate flavoured soy icecream? An orgasm for the taste buds.
