Well I didnt say that what he was doing was bad....I said doing the calisthenics every day was good actually. I just added the wirght lifting in as extra........but stupid me i forgot to check with IronGoth before I psoted, I forgot that he is the all knowing.
Iron, to answer your question, yes, but all certifying agencies will say the same thing, I don't know of any that recommend working the same muscle two days in a row for a general workout. And the military is not a certifying agency for the record. What exactly are your qualifications to prescribe exercise programs again? Aside from your ego, personal experience and google. We went through this once before remember? To clarify what I was responding to, you said My response was you can work out the same muscle group (body part as you like to refer to it as) up to 4 times a week and still not work it out every day, which is actually what is recommended. Now, what bodybuilders have to do with this post I have no idea, except that you like to show how much you hate them in every post you reply to. You are the only one who brought them up, I can’t understand your fascination with them, honestly. For the most part on this forum I respect your opinion because a lot of what you say has some merit, even though there are times that I completely disagree with you and your way of training and the way you talk to people here. There are aspects of training, that you know and I don't, I am the first to admit that. A good trainer knows that they don’t know nearly everything, and that there is always something new to learn. You might learn something too, if you listened to people for once. Because contrary to what you might believe, you don’t know everything. 2.Soul, your entire body is not one single muscle group. Take an anatomy/biology class if you are confused. One could certainly do a full body work out, if that is what you are referring to (as I've already suggested in my previous post) but you still would not do that every day. (not unless you are Iron, and general laws of nature and physics don't apply because he's superman). 3. Since there seems to be some confusion on what people are talking about, I'll break it down again. There is a difference between: a) Body part b)a muscle group and c) your whole body. There is a difference between working out once a week, and every day, and every other day. Do I need to go over the days of the week with you now? There is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you work out every other day (giving your muscles a rest between workouts) you should still get 4 full body workouts, or 2 split routines. And yes, there are some people who do only work out one muscle group per week. I hate to have to sound like a condescending jerk, but you people push me over the edge sometimes. Sheesh! I really do hope you all (Iron included) take care of your bodies today. Jen
Save up Iron, I think you'd make a good trainer for some; there are people out there who like your rough around the edges attitude. Trainers are like a good pair of jeans, they either fit, or they don't. Plus you know all that stuff about the kettle bells and whatnot, that a lot of "general pt" don't pay attention to. It might be a pretty good investment. The reason I went with ACE is because that is what the gym I work for wanted me to have, but I'm also getting a degree in exercise science technology too. But I've already made back in my paychecks what I spent on the course, books and exam.
