I would like everyone to stop watching TV, I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE IT! I want you to stop watching it! I stopped watching tv about three months ago, and my life has really become stable, I used to have problems with depression, and various addictions, but it seems like once I stopped watching tv, I stopped doing alot of things...like over eating, staying inside ALL the time. I also quit smokeing ( I used to smoke alot in front of the TV). the other day I watched a TV show and it made me realise what had happened, after that our long show I wanted to buy an Audi, and get some KFC. It was as if in one hour I had been mind raped by the TV. never again the burning times! STOP WATCHING TV!!!

IT IS EVIL AND IT WILL CONSUME YOUR BRAIN!

I want youi to go without TV for a week...if you don't like it go back to the evil box...but at least refrain!

i do not have a TV at all, and seriously i do not miss it one bit, i only used to watch documentaries in the middle of the night anyway, which i do not think are bad for you. i think tv has a stronger influence then we think whilst watching it

I really like PBS, I think that is ok because there is no commercials, the shows on the TV are usually crap, but what I hate is really the commercials.

Yes. When little I was confined to bed after a car accident and became addicted to TV. Once I ventured out on my own and had no interaction with TV I really did not want to watch it as much, for some reason, which gave me a sense of freedom. No more hurrying home cause that new episode is on, no more freakin out over missin shows. It is awesome.

I don't watch TV much...only sometimes if I am bored.Yeah,it may eat away at your brain...but doesn't staring at a computer do the same thing? It does in my opinion.

  8. TV is definitely not your problem, its that your life is in such a bad state that you allow it to become a problem or excuse for you. I agree, watch less TV, but there is valuable stuff on there, documentaries, indpependent media, movies - it can't be blamed for everything.

TV is not society's problem, society at the base is the problem - if there was more to people's lives than this day to day drab rat race living, people would abandon television and the industry, which thrives on selling stuff and showing mind numbing entertainment, would go bankrupt.

Please, speak for yourself on this topic. I dont watch much TV but when I do, it does NOT consume my brain. The thing is, you have only found a cure for your problem not a prevention. Even though you dont watch TV anymore, it is still in control of you whenever you do. The root of the problem is obviously that you dont question and filter what you see on the box. If you did, it wouldnt consume you. Your problem is not TV. The problem is that you let TV (and I would assume any other medium of information / advertising) enter your brain without a second thought. I agree that TV is full of garbage but that is not what frustrates me. What frustrates me is that people accept this garbage as some kind of modern day guide to living.

If more people woke up to what was actually being shown on TV, they wouldnt feel compelled watch it as much and the producers would then be forced to change the content.

I dont think this will ever happen though. Humans are too intrenched in consumerism, drama and unreality - and TV takes good advantage of that.

    well put equality.

society is a very huge problem...oh well *sigh* it's only getting worse

AND I would like to state I do not blame anything on the TV the tv did not make me stay in and watch it, I did it all, but when I stopped I got out more ,talked to people, came back to the real world...

and I don't think the computer ets my brain...I sit here reading for a little while...I see it as a power gobbling book, with shiny colours.

I'm addicted to caffeine. and I like watching tv.

Its educational in a lot of senses. I mean the things Steve Irwin does with snakes.

Its entertaining. Lets take pop idol when they are auditioning. Do those people really believe they can sing?

Its interesting. Lost. The best series in a long time. (not sure about the hillbillies on the boat though).

It saves money. £28 to see my team play in the Premier League. Nothing to see it on tv.

I tend not to watch the adverts. If the ads come on I flick over and watch something else for 5 minutes like the sports news.

Its not mind controlling unless you let it be. Now.... DIY SOS is on. (joke)(

  12. you poor bastards get steve irwin too. Shit this world is going to hell.

  14. If you can't laugh at dumb aussies who can you laugh at.

By the way, why wasn't jesus born in Australia?
Because they couldn't find three wise men and a virgin

Why do aussie men suffer from premature ejaculation?
Because they can't wait to get back to the pub and tell their mates about it

What is the difference between Aussie men and government bonds?
    Bonds mature.

    He he he he he

I used to live on the Sunny Coast and still go to uni there, not far from Beerwah where his zoo is. He does so much business it's not funny. There is always heaps of tourists on the trains and buses and he has his own buses to ferry everyone from the stations and back. Not bad at all.
