any one know anything about house wiring?

my washrom electrical outlet is getting verry hot when use it..hot enough to burn me. I shut the breaker off to it for the time being. I intend to removed the wall plug and cap off the all the wires tonight.. so I can use the lights in my washroom

its the type wall outlet with the electrical coil thingy on the inside.

 

Not really but my roomates taking some electrical engeneering classes. I'll ask him when he gets back.

 

im just disconectng all the wires and capping them indiviually, no conection = no heat.

 

Your problem is two-fold.

First, you need to replace the existing duplex receptacle with a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet. Second, it sounds as though you may need to replace the breaker. For this I recommend a qualified professional. You couldbe playing with up to 10,000 volts and up to 200 amps. It only takes 6 amps, if properly placed, to kill you.
