Graduating from the school of hard knocks, I have come to relize that is impossible to Love everyone... one has their limits.
The most vaulable lessons I have brought from my 'Time in the Haight' is.. To Thine Own Self Be True. Do what you will, but harm none. Think for yourself and follow your gut instint..
There were some truely fine men back in the day and I must give them their due. The ones that held fast to their values and provided a home and sustanance to their families. Most of whom moved out of the cities and relocated to the safty and peace of the country. They are the ones that have paved the way for freedom of choice, by living what they preach. To get Back to the Garden.

It's a wonder tha any of us made it out alive with all the hostilities that were building within our own Hippie structure. The drugs were taking their toll on our young minds and bodies. Some slipped off into the deep end without ever even knowing it. Everyone was carring a weapon of some sort and the trust that we once held had turned into paranoia. As their tracks got deeper their hearts grew black.

I hate taxes,fire ants and disease but I don't believe I hate any one person. I may hate the things people do, but not the people. I don't even hate George Bush, I hate what he's doing, he's a lost soul but even Bush has Buddah in him. He just don't know it.

I don't spend my time hating the Bushes of the world. Life is too short. I spend time on growing food and beautiful flowers, I spend time making the babies laugh and loving my husband. I spend time wetting a worm and listening to the fish tales of the old men linning the shore catching Crappie and cursing the big one that got away..

If Abbie were alive today, I wonder where he'd be. In the city beating a dead horse or in the country riding a live one instead.

I think you can lve humanity, but there are gong to be some you just clash with due to chemistry makeup.. some chemicals blend and become more inhanced and some are deadly when mixed.. I find it true however, that everyone has at least one redeaming quaility. Even if that quaility is being hard assed.. it is a type of strenght and strenght is admirable. But to truly LOVE LOVE LOVE everybody you'd have to be Jesus Christ, and most of us are NOT that tolerent. We humans have not eveluted that far yet.
I do think it will happen eventully, but I doubt if it will be in my lifetime.
TD do you love everyone? Now that would include george bush and his minnions. It would also include sadam husane, ben laden, hitler, mussolinni, jack the ripper, hamibal lecter, jeffery dhamer, the oil cartell and all the demons that run this planet.
Where is the love for them and does one waste their loving energies on demons..
If you have the answers to that then please let us in on the mystery of how to accomplish it and still be true to self.

Burl, why don't you have your whore cat fixed and settle the problem from now on. I think they have 'clinics' where you don't have to pay.. check with your local SPCA and see if they are having one in your area soon.

lol..now that's funny..nothin' immaculate about me.. or shameless for that matter.. Where in some parts of the country one would call a GF a beotch, or something o that nature, here we oft' use the term Heifer in the same way.
At times I can be a bit outspoken and a gf of mine use to call me shameless heifer and it became my handle as at that time I was rasing calves so shameless_heifer it was.

Shameless, although I do very much know it is possible to love the spirit in everyone and still have no love at all for the actions of those dark hearted and ingnorant humans who commit demonic evil, I feel that I apparently owe you an apology.

I grew up in the 1960s, I am a little younger than you, and I had an entirely different experience than the one I see you write about sometimes. But that is the nature of life, I think. I am in no way qualified to instruct anyone on the art of unconditional love for all people, I just know it can be achieved. Me? I have trouble loving the person who cuts me off in traffic, let alone my enemy. But I am trying.

I meant no disrespect, and humbly submit to fall on my nerf sword and maybe even throw meself in front of a parked car or two. I personally am trying to evolve to a point where i can evolve some more. That should keep me busy for a while.
