War IS an ugly thing, but as long as nations and leaders exist that detest freedom, sometimes it is the only way to secure a lasting peace. Most leftist anti-war protesters and pundits don't understand this. They state that this use of force is always unnecessary, that war, ANY war, is never good. Some of them, born into the luxury of American freedom, believe that liberty can exist passively, that somehow the world's natural state will always settle into utopian harmony. Others, in an attempt to absolve themselves from the unearned guilt they harbor living in a nation of prosperity and wealth, try to buy morality on the cheap by pronouncing themselves for the 'good'. To them, the derivation of the 'good' is based on a simple, yet peculiar standard: the powerful and competent are wicked, while the feeble and impotent are innocent - regardless of the context. That is why they defend Iraq instead of America, and the Palestinian "resistance" instead of Israel. These leftists usually carry the loudest megaphones. And left unchallenged, their voices are heard disproportionately, demoralizing our troops, and emboldening dictators around the world - dictators who dream of the day the "Great Satan" disappears from the face of the earth. http://www.protestwarrior.com
the thing that got me about the anti war movement is it wasnt really anti war it was anti western ....I went to marches in london and there were loads of people carrying signs for islamic jihad and hamas including little children . how is carrying signs for suicide bombers anti war , it just fake and bogus , that doesnt mean that being against a certain war is bad just that you need to be careful that the agenda is really anti war and your not just attacking one side

I DEFINITELY won't take that at face value. Were these people of Middle Eastern descent or are you trying to imply that anti-war protesters, at least in part, are somehow in bed with those who promote terrorism against non-combatants?
well I went to the marches with people from hip forums and posted about it at the time and pointed out the hamas posters to other people who went with me . I remember seeing some kids dressed in camoflage and with headscarfs that said islamic jihad and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade as I walked to meet the hipforum people, then there loads of people with placards supporting hamas , a large group of people carrying a very large banner for either the muslim brotherhood or Jamiat-i Islami . I think this was at the first big demonstration I went to there were also members of hizb-ut-tahrir there at that one too if you go to some marches look out for things that have the web address palestine-info or al-fatah which are both hamas websites do some digging with any islamic group to see who they really are , and what their aims are . and I dont think the average protestor knew what was happening or whose who they were just useful idiots . I suppose I was a useful idiot too but I wasnt that keen on the war and I didnt believe in what blair and bush were saying so although I didnt like going and marching with people who supported very ropey groups I went . I carried a bamboo pole with nothing on it which I found and is know one of my bean poles
I do think the left wing groups at the top knew who they were marching with because there were people who made complaints at the time.
The so called anti-war movement are not pacifists at all. They shout slogans like "Victory to the Intifada", so they are anti-Iraq war but not anti-Palestinian war. How strange. The muslims amongst them also shout for "Jihad over Kashmir" and "Jihad over Chechenya", so they are not against their wars. Interestingly when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 British muslims were calling for Jihad against Iraq. And were not attending any anti-Gulf War demos back then. Even Osama Bin Laden back then offered to lend his support to help kick Iraq out of Kuwait. Interestingly the Kurdish people, who by the way are also muslims, including the Kurdish communist party were totally insupport of the 2003 Gulf War, as they were already at war with Saddam's forces and had been on and off for decades. try getting any interest if your a iranian student whose against theocracy and wants iran to be a democracy. or if you would like to see films like submission that was made by a ex muslim women about muslim women being beaten and oppressed , or films on stoning or sheria or islam what the west should know another film made by ex muslims .
