Once upon a time I watched angels fly One was mid air and shot from the sky As he plummeted down I heard his sad cry “God has forsaken me and I know not why!” Hitting the ground he burst into flames He looked up at me and told me his name I am your conscience the angel of pain Please hold my hand close and leave me to shame I watched as a tear rolled down his charred cheek He sobbed and he shook and proceeded to speak “I have given it up and have ended up weak I’ve forgotten to live and have accepted defeat” As I spoke words of faith to return him to life He shook his head no and turned to the sky “I cannot believe I could not survive I thought that for sure I could conquer this strife” But the flesh it is weak and the spirit is lost I’d have given it up if I knew of the cost To lose love once had, like star lovers crossed Now I go to sit in my seat far in hell I have earned all my lashings and should have known as well That there’s no such thing as a buy without sell Souls have been sold and I bid you farewell His eyes rolled back in the far of his head I knew him and thought “what a life he has led” I will miss him now that he’s gone and he’s dead Yet I know that God knows the hearts that he fed. (I hate rhyming poems mine always sound so chiken soup for the soulish so I decided to write one the rhymed just for fucks sake)
