It's weird...although if you think about it, it's not too weird. I always have my cycle during the full moon. I wonder if that means something? You know, like those of us who have our cycles during the full moon have certain personality types... Or those of you who have your cycles during the new moon, etc. Hmmm, I don't know...just a thought.
Thats an interesting thought, however my cycle is all over the place because of my dumb unbalanced hormones so hmmm maybe that explains my constant changing personality and moods, haha.
lunaception.......... i've heard of this before. apparently if you were to sleep without any artificial light, your cycle would eventually follow the regular light of the moon. hence, "moon-cycle". there are women who try to do that in order to monitor their cycles and prevent unwanted pregnancies. i don't know how valid it is.... just hearsay from me, but it's cool. it also amazes me how when you get a few girls together for awhile, everyone eventually matches up.
I hear A LOT about how for thousands of years, many cultures have believed the moon to be feminine because of women's connection to it (due to their menstruation more often than not being in sync with the cycles of the moon). But over the decades we get more and more artificial light and spend less and less time in nature, so lots of periods are now all over the map! I think its very spiritual and beautiful, though, and that type of thing makes me feel more connected to the planet I love it!
My period always starts just before, on or just after the full moon. My friend in work who I see for about 8hours everyday has almost exactly the same cycle. We always know when we're due if one of us starts to get a bit snappy! When we first started working together our cycles were totally different... strange isn't it? My friend told me yesterday how she never used to notice the timing of her period until she looked up at the moon a couple of nights ago and realised "oh! I'm about to have my period!"
The moon is like my body clock. I break out really badly about a week prior to the full moon. I feel a rush of energy during the intial full moon and they like clock work my period begins. This didn't happen till I was older and stopped taking birth control. I think my body re-adjusted to it's own natural schedule.
In most placees where there is no artificial light, womyn usually OVULATE during the Full Moon and Menstruate during the New Moon or dark of the Moon. Some think the Full Moon may have helped couple find each other in the dark. Who knows?
Well it makes sence doesn't it? If the moon can effect all the water on the planet, why wouldn't it be able to affect us in someway? I mean our cycles are generally the same as the moon's; 28 days.
when i was finally off the pill and allthat stuff, my periods would cycle perfectly in a 28 days. dave could check my cycle on his fishing calendar.
I think it's a beautiful concept... I've always been very imaginative when considering women's connection to the moon and I strongly believe that it exists.
I love my period because I always feel like Im walking with the moon during that time, and ultimately feminine. It makes sense to think that our cycles would be guided by the moon. The tides are guided by the moon, and the percentage of water in a human is large. I also think moods are in connection with its movements, however all very subtle. I think it just makes sence, because we are a producut of the universe, just as the sun and the moon, and live off them and the earth, therefore why wouldnt we be so closely connected?
I generally call my cycle my moon cycle. It isn't always matched up with the moon, but when I'm bleeding on nights with the full moon, I have to force myself to stay inside. I live in a foresty area... so often if I don't manage to stay inside, I get to travel around on moonlit forest paths. Sometimes I climb trees naked. It is magical.
lunaception is the art of aligning the feminine body to the moon cycles by developing a love for the earth and lunar affects thereupon... i think all women are naturally in tune with these cycles, just havn't developed them because the wisdom has been forgotten as is so often the case. basically, it is the supreme birth control mechanism because just by looking at the moon you know exactly what is going on in your body. talk about divine love, it is in my opinion the reason why men feel so attached to the moon, a far distant rock hovering a world away in the dark cold. it's why we play songs to it and write poetry about it for all these ages...that collective unconscience of knowing has been retained.lol. read up on tom robbins...the man is a genius
