I quit for a couple of months...had a cigg now and then.... now i'm rather back on the habit... you know, summer... drinking 7 days a week, and the ciggs come with the drinking... i'm still not smoking alot...around 8-10 a day... I used to smoke 40 a day a year ago...so it's good enough... When summer ends I shall cut down to 1-2 a day naturaly, I always do.

Quitting isn't as easy. A family friend, who has been smoking for 30 years actually went to this psychic smoknig massage therapy, and it worked... he hasn't smoked for 2 months... It basicly associates the taste and smell of ciggs with negative points in your body, making you dislike it... good stuff, it was rather expensive though...

For me it's easy to quit, I have a strong will...

So I cannot tell you how long it will last, it depands on the person.

Alot of people say that cold turkey is the best way, I personally disagree...I think that cutting down works much better...

I quit 2 months ago. I have been using the patch which has made things easier (Im still on it) but I still crave ciggs and I still wonder just how I am supposed to stay away from them...I like smoking. I am sure at some point I will get over it...but it hasnt happened yet.

wow, its wierd how everyone is different. with true smokers logic i reasoned that i couldn't afford patches (this time).

the worst of the bad physical cravings have passed but mentally i'm not feeling so good.

Yeah, I know what you mean...

    Wake up, cig.
    Coffe, cig.
    After lunch, cig.
    Night, cig.

It's hard to break such habits. Everything in your life is associated with smoking already. What I would suggest to do is finding a new activity... that will replace the period of time in which you had a cig.

Lets say you smoked in the morning, instead of that, take a walk, or eat something, or something like that.

Congrats!!! That depressed feeling eventually goes away. I wish my mom would just get depressed. My mom quit a couple of weeks ago, and now anything can make her go crazy! She gets sooooo angry for no reason. She didn't like the way I was driving the other day so she opened the door, (while I was still driving down the road) started driving and decides that she wants to kill us. Yep, be glad you only get depressed.

You will always have cravings, not as strongly as you do right now. I haven't smoked since 1998. Well I have had one or two, but I have never really started smoking again. If I get really upset then I want a cig. If I taste spearmint, I want a cig. But those are the only two times, and even then I don't want one bad enough to go buy some. It will get easier with time. Oh and I quit cold turkey. Actually I took care of my dying grandmother, who was suffocating because of the cancer that was eating her lungs. That will make you think.
