On The Learning Channel, there is a guy on there who weighs over a thousand pounds. It's so bad, his skin has stretched to the point where it cannot stretch anymore and some of the liquids on the inside of his body are now seeping out. Poor guy...but sheesh...how can you let yourself get that bad?

TLC's now showing a story about this woman who had a lithopedian - a fetus that rather than being born, calcifies. She had it for over 30 years. god... that would be terrifying, eep
usually only happens with ectopic pregnancies. I don't think you can -make- it happen, it's more like a peculiarity of peoples bodies
ectopic: baby starts developing in the fallopian tubes, usually doesn't survive past three weeks and is reabsorbed by the body or miscarried I don't remember how far along she was, but probly like 8months or so... it was quite well developed, almost the same size as an actual child. It actually somehow went out of her fallopian tube and connected itself to her organs to survive that long, but couldn't be birthed, so slowly had a covering of calcium form around it. blech, I NEVER want that happening to me
it's even creepier than a tumor... it's this thing that was once alive, just staying in you for years and years, feeding off your blood and organs and nutrients *shudders*
That was on after the show I was talking about...but I fell asleep before it started...I'm mad...I wanted to see it. Knowing TLC...they'll rerun it enough times for me to catch it one day.
