on archives.org can i actually download the show or not??

    yeah dude... you can actually download them... any of the available 2600 shows you choose...

    yes, but there is software you need on your computer.
    As I STILL trade (software deficient at the moment & needing a bud to pop over and see what I'm forgetting) I don't know all the details of what you need...but I bet someone here does.

    anyone? anyone? Bueller?

    the link you posted is a soundboard, you cannot download the soundboards. but you can download the audience recordings.

    you can download only audio shows. GDM got greedy and so now you can't download soundboards from the archive (though you CAN trade for them, so why it matters I don't know...just slightly more effort).

    what you need to do is download the show, unzip it, then it will be either in SHN or FLAC format. there are two different conversion programs.....a program called mkwACT will convert SHN to .mp3 there is also a program called FLAC FrontEnd and it will convert FLAC files to .mp3. i don't have an ipod so i don't know if you can load mp3s onto it or if you need to convert to a special format....but your ipod software should be able to do that.

    check out http://wiki.etree.org/ and look under "File Types" there will be a link about SHN and FLAC

    i found a way to download the sbd shows. Copy the link that leads you to the m3u file and then paste in into your browser and delete the part that had the m3u file in the url. here you can download the songs individually

    don't dis the aud tapes. Dr. Bob form SF is one of the best aud tapers out there and he had plenty from... 74 on, i think. I met him through Zero/Kimock family.
    one of my fave discs is a stealth aud of Pandit Ravi Shankar (no I will not trade it. Don't ask)

    because it didn't work for me...
    or I just didn't understand it?...

    or if anyone else could explain it to me...
    that would really be cool...
