I just ot this msg last night and now I am realy upset, this woman is a brand new member, I dont think she has orderd frm me, if she has it means she created a brand new ebay name just to harass me............

    heres the msg

now is a terribly horrible thing that I make clothing in colors that ARENT SO EARTHY, or colors that I LIKE TO SEE TOGETHER, or sometimes i do use fabrics that are delicate and need to be treated so, if the fabric is delicate I tell people how to wash it. I know my clothes arent typical hippie patchwork but come on, this was really rude and hurtful, she didnt try to be nice at all, just came off as a bitch.......

I really hope it wasnt someone from here.............. and i hope it isnt a customer who isnt satisfyed, because they never contacted me about it, this wasnt the only msg, she sent me one on another items too and told me no one would ever pay tha much for it.............. what??

I just wrote her back and responded "thanks for the love, look forward to doing business with you soon"......

    aww! *hugs*
don't let her discourage you. so what if she dissapproves of your color choices, you're funkyphreshmama! you're all about creating something new and different, not conforming to other peoples expectations (and by the sound of it prejudices)....otherwise you wouldn't be doing what you're doing. keep up the great work mama and don't let crap like that get you down.

Yeah, that email was not in the least bit nice. I'm sorry that someone was so flat out rude to you. I think craftster need to support each other instead of rip each other apart.

We all have different taste, so what? There are people out there who like what you make and for those that don't, they don't have to buy anything from ya, right?

Here maybe this will make ya feel a bit better.... I get these weird emails from people on Etsy about the clothpads I make. They crack me up and all I can do is laugh it off and keep selling themto the woman who want them.

    Dear Twistedstitches,

While browsing Etsy I came across your store and noticed that you have some inappropriate items for sale. I do not think that Etsy is the place to sell cloth menstrual pads. They are probably better left to places like ebay or even your own website. Please consider removing them from your store as they are quite offensive.

    and another one...

    Hi,

I found your site after looking around Etsy and I don't really understand the whole cloth pad thing. They can't be very sanitary. How do you even use them? Does the FDA have to approve your product before you sell it since it is after all a health item?

I just think they are weird. More power to you I guess.

and this one which just cracked me up...

I noticed that you are selling cloth pads in your store. Could you please explain to me how they work. I think $20 is a lot to spend every time I have my period. What is so special about them that I would spend so much on pads from you? Also, shouldn't these be listed under the "adult" catagory? They aren't really something I would want young children to see if they are looking around Etsy.

They are so funny to read. I get them often it seems, maybe from the same person, I don't know.

    ((((hugs)))) to you sister!
that is an awful email to receive, but i'm REALLY proud of the way you're handling it! i tend to be a bit sensitive & probably would have let this get me really down, but it just made you want to sew more & i think that is AWESOME!
i totally agree with all the advice that's already been given...you just keep on doin what you're doin! i have seen your talent develop over the years & i think you just keep getting better & better :)
keep on stitchin sis & know that ALL of us are supporting you!!!!

    OMG!!!
people are sooo silly sometimes! it is amazing that people are still sooo uneducated! & what are these people afraid of....it's ok to for kids to see & entire aisle of pads at the grocery store (filled with toxic chemies) & yet a few natural homemade versions "aren't really something" for "young children to see"......oh, this makes me afraid for our backwards culture!!!!! ;)

I had some lady try to rip me off on some hemp webbing I was selling. She first said it wasn't hemp, then she sent me an email saying it was bleached. Then she wanted a deal on all I had and when I offered it to her for 50% what I paid she accused me of trying to rip her off. I told her if she could get it for a better price I'd GIVE it to her and I never heard from her again.

oh my gosh hipmoon, that is insane, how are the offensive??? and lola that is really crappy, if she didnt like it why did she want all of it. goes to show you people always want something for nothing, i can understand if she orderd from me and was unhappy being upset, but its weird to get an email from someone who doesnt like my color choices for clothing and applique.. and to tell me that "sewing isnt my gift"

Well, if you've been on there since you were 15 then I guess you've had an ok run if no-one upset you before... although everything she said was bitchy and inexcusable. People would get really angry if you went up to them in the street and said "You shouldn't be wearing that, the colours don't match" or whatever. Ignore the woman. She obviously has no taste :D

Oh so you received my msg?

    I'm just joking :p
Since you was 15?? CoOoool that means 7 years sewing! you're proffesional darling and you must be proud of yourself since you received that msg 'cause it means you have enemies who're envy of you and ask yourself why are they envy? 'cause you arent's zero but you make good stuff! And maybe she also sews and is afraid of you 'cause you sew better than she.

*hugs to you, Robin* don't let her get you down, you have your own style and tastes in making clothes and you should keep on doing that. obviously poeple like your stuff or they wouldn't buying it! i'd list everything you got and hope that tons of people bid and that the mean ebayer sees it.

*to hipmoon* thats so ignorant and rude that those Etsy members say that, how is it gross? you should tell them that chemical filled commercial pads are whats really bad...its crazy how people are so unaccepting. how are they offensive? thats rediculous

Heya Robin - don't let people like that get to you. It's not worth your time and energy. Look how many people love your work and pay for it too!
So sorry you had to experience that :( I know how crappy it is when someone outright insults your artistic abilities. What I've seen of your work is unique, colorful, and beautiful.

    *hugs* mama!

I like when people color outside the lines, or with colors that don't match :) I sense some jealousy, and it's not like you are forcing her to buy your stuff. But yeah, if that was a costomer that changed her name, she totally went about it the wrong way. I'd ignore it, and go sew some more :)

    Hey,

don't let her get under your skin. Hippie patchwork is a form of artistic self expression, and like any other kind of art you are going to have supporters (which you have lots and lots) and those who don't like any of your stuff (which are far outnumbered and thankfully the world does not revolve around them).
Personally, I love your work: it is a true expression of your screen name.
So have a hippie day and f**k the mean messenger.
    Peace.

I hate people who complain just to see if you are willing to fix their complaint. I've only had one person who tried to haggle me on Ebay. Her feedback also reflected her past haggleing attempts. I told her to take her haggleing to the flea market. Ebay and these other online auctions are pretty much online flea markets. Shoot... the stores that buy from me pay me more than what I get on Ebay for my work. Anyway... If I see an auction I have a comment about... I don't belittle them. My comments are usually on their photography or a better description. I only email to try to help but tread on water and not offend.
