I and I Survive is a good tune. I like Burning Spear! Just getting into reggae and it's some cool stuff, it's true that you can't stay unhappy listening to it!

Burning Spear are simply awesome... I recently burned an MP3 CD with like 120 songs on it, and about 40 Burning Spear songs... good stuff :)

Yea i have Marcus Gravy too, great album.

Yea Check out the Skatalites, they were a studio band for people like Bob Marley before he was in the Wailers, with Bunny Wailer(he used to play music under the name Dandy Livingston, check out some of that shit) and Peter Tosh(macintosh)

Also check out Desmond Dekker and the Aces
    Harry J Allstars

check out spearhead, a political reggae/rock/funk/soul band out of san francisco and a world band. their music is outrageous and the lead singer is a modern day bob marley, infact he's good friends with the marley sons, his name is michael franti. here is the website for spearhead called www.stayhuman.org

soaringeagle, I agree, eekamouse is a little too weird for me. You guys ever heard Gentleman? He's from Germany, moved to Jamaica and turned reggae artist. Check out his website http://www.journeytojah.com 'Journey to Jah' is my favorite of his albums but his new album, Confidence, is pretty good too. Barrington Levy 'Original Raggamuffin Part One', Aswad - 'Showcase', Black Uhuru - 'Unification' and 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner', and U Brown 'Rougher than the Rest' are some other albums that are definitely worth picking up if you're into reggae.

I am proud of you. You show very good taste in loving the music of Burning Spear. He is one of my favorites. He has been singing for decades and has alot of material. I love the 100th anniversary edition of Marcus Garvey album that comes with the "versions". I also love the album called "Hail H.I.M." which is a masterpiece. Good stuff. He is called the ambassador of reggae. Winston Rodney is his real name. I have alot of his music.

I would like to suggest Garnett Silk, Sugar Minott and Dennis Brown. Gregory Isaacs is good also.

Has anyone suggested Steel Pulse yet? Handsworth Revolution is one of my favourite reggae albums.
