What if some scientific undeniable proof was found that totally shits all over the idea of god existing?
I've already proven there is no "god". You heard me say it, didn't you? Hell, my saying "There is no god" is just as credible, if not more than Jerry Falwell's claim that there is. At least I don't swindle money from old people.
Well, it sort of has. But the thought of God is just too comforting for some of the less thoughtless people to let go of
That can never be proven. And besides that, I have proof that God exists. He is in my heart and He helps me through life. Without Him I would be lost, so He exists.
If you say there is no god then there is no god.....for you. I don't know if you were being facetious or not, but rather than that statement being just as credible as His Imperiousness, Mr. Falwell's, I would say it is just as bad. I would like to see someone prove there is no god. that would be a neat trick. Of course there are infinite possibilities of what 'could be' that would be impossible to disprove, and there is no need to. I haven't been convinced God exists, but if it does, I am pretty sure I would not have a chance at comprehending the nature of it. And, by the way, right on about the not swindling money thing. If there is a hell, those tv evangelists are going to get front row seats. Too bad I don't think there is a hell. Oh well, I bet they don't believe in it either, or they couldn't in good conscience fasttalk elderly widows out of their savings.... Where's the hand of God when you need some serious old school smiting done?
Don't hold your breath. What if science was made a compulsory subject and everyone had to take it. If some of the worlds leading scientists are theists, it seems improbable that science and faith are incommensurable. You can be both. But of course if I am right, then we'll miss out on all of that shitting and pissing I guess.
I don't believe you. God is not in my brain. If anything God is in my heart, but I am not at all convinced of that. Therefore I need to know what big scary ideas might make me go insane, cuz I don't want them, although I am quite sure that I am already insane anyway, I don't want to be any more insane.
People, there is an easy answer to this question; there is a "god". There is however no conscious being that calls himself god, rather god is within all of us and in every thread of fiber in nature. However based on quantum physic theory, if you believe in "god" it makes it real, at least for that persons perception. In essence everyone engaged in a religion of spiritual faith is seeking and looking for ultimately the same thing, which is peace and balance within their own lives. Religion is like a lantern, there are many panes of glass to peer through, but there is always the same light in the center. If you believe in heaven you will go their when you die... at least until you brain completely stops functioning, the dream-like DMT chemical in your brain will manifest your ending place. Atheists who believe in no such concept, and see no purpose for such, are strong to need no additional perceived support from energy within and abound but it is there. We do not see hardly any of the things or possibilities that exist in our world, just and many animals do not see many of the same colors as us, or see with heat, or sound. So in the end, modern science (quantum physics) supports and understand the notion of god as unseen energy that flows withing every living and man-made thing, it makes sense if you think about it.
You misunderstand what I mean - ever read 'Zen and the Art of motorcycle maintenence', sorry I forgot who wrote it but one of the fundamental ideas in the book is that one problem with people is that they are afraid to think too much because they think they will go insane. Reality is quite scary when there is not a nice vision of God to keep it nice and neatly labelled and boxed. Its pleasant to believe in God because it solves all of your philisophical and ethical problems: Right and Wrong, solved. Life and Death, solved. How the Earth was created, solved. What I'm saying is its easy to believe in God because you no longer have to think deeply about things. And I say this from experience.
Ask anyone, thats where SHE hangs out. What'd ya think? In the brain.........ha ha ha ...... as if. Love is not a brain thing, or else on feb. 14th, we'd give out brain shaped gifts. Any 5 year old knows that your heart is where anything to do with love is. Sorry, though, clueless about the when and how, etc. details are hard to find, SHE's sneaky.
Eve was chatting with God one day, and asked if she should tell Adam the truth. God said men like to believe that they came first, so humor him and we'll just keep this between us, okay sis?
