My favorite book as a child. I loved the cartoon movie of it too. I liked that it ended in death, because as kids they try to make the stories end happily, but this was a gentle ending I feel. Anyone else liked it?

 

yeah i remember it, seems so long ago that i read it in school tho.

 

I loved the book, and the film. Mind u the first time I saw the film I was in hospital and the nurses were annoyed at my mum for letting me watch it cos I was bawling my eyes out by the end!

 

I absolutely adored that story as a child, and now my children do as well!

 

I absolutely loved that book, wow thanks for reminding me about this book. I never sow the film though. The death in the end made me s0000000 sad.

You're so right about this the book. It was actually one of the things that made me realise death could happen at any point.

 

The ending of the film will make you cry. Even though it's animated, it's sad. So be prepared with some tissues.

 

For real! No joke...

 

yeah i adore the book. I've kept it for the day when I have kids. It's so wonderful.

 

A solid book despite that there is not enough pig-based literature out there to compete with it.
