I just got my nipples pierced two nights ago. Everyone I had talked to made it out to be such a painful experience.. It wasn't bad at all, if you are thinking about it, just go for it. Anyways, It was pierced with a 16 gauge needle. From my understanding, that is kind of uncommon. How long should I wait before I stretch it to a 14?I was thinking a month at the earliest, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with this?
16 is a bit small. i suggest waiting maybe 3 months, or until fully healed. and i would recommend going back to the piercer for it. unless you have experience stretching piercings, things like nipples can be a little tricky.
but... if you decide you want to try and stretch it your self, theres not much harm you can do. just get a taper, lube (technicare is ideal, but water based lube will be ok), and slide. happy healing
16ga?! Wow, that's really super small... Standard nipple piercing is usually a 12, at the smallest a 14ga... Think of fishing line, and the thinner, the more it can "cut" you? Yeah, you get the idea.. Be careful with them, and don't be suprised if they migrate.
Yikes. Yeah, the thought didn't even cross my mind that they were too small until after I had left. This place was very sterile, but I don't think the piercers were the most intelligent people.. I don't think I have to worry about them ripping out on their own. But I would like to get some bigger rings in just in case..
Just make sure you take good care of them, make sure not to snag them on "stuff"... Good luck! Once they're healed go to a 14ga with a quickness!
ouch...stretching nipple piercings sounds awful...well when I got mine done, it was super painful..but I didn't have a clamp or any sort of numbing products (not even ice)
numbing is quite illegal for piercers to use in some areas. emla = legal in most places. but its not that strong. lidocaine = very illegal to use with out a license. and most numbing agents that would fully numb the area, need to be injected. i always opt for free hand. the forceps annoy me. but a lot of people say that it makes the piercing hurt less. i think it makes the experience more painful. but thats all opinion
