I hear that it has to be heated to work at all, that it only works a bit when not heated, and that it works without the heat. I want to finally know which is true! Someone who is a scientist might help us, but I doubt anyone would have done some research (on this forum at least) to find the actual properties of THC. HELP ME!
Im pretty sure it has to be heated to work or else who would take the chance of getting caught to smoke it everyone would eat it
you can eat hash straight up, i think. ive sucked on it and it messes you up. as long as it gets absorbed into the skin somehow i think its all good.
what? if you're making food with THC, the heat helps to extract it from the plant material. then you'd usually have some sort of fat in the food for the THC to bond with
Temperature doesn't mean shit; as long as you absorb it into your bloodstream then that's all that matters.
..Are you serious? Maybe we smoke it because food preparation is less effective unless done properly, gives a different high, and is more difficult and more time consuming. Stoners are pretty lazy man, you think we'd get baked by bakin' every time we wanted to get high just to avoid the risk of getting caught?
I have an abnormal body temperature.. When I'm healthy I'm usually around 87 degrees... I bet none of you have ever had a fever at 90!
I ate it the two last times I did it. It lasts much longer(8+hr) and feels more "mystical". Dunno... Ate 0,5gram and wondered if I was asleep or awake(2/3hr or so)... I was still high at school the next day and the trip(I think it qualifies for that) ended in me sitting highly euphoric in the class-room(Like an opium body-high + I felt more dulled)... Plus the chicks were 100X as beautiful as usual!!
Some canaboids will transform into THC when heated. Thus it'll work better to smoke/heat-eat/whatever...
here go to marijauana.com, it will tell you that while smoking pot gets you high right away the high usually lasts about 1-2 hrs depending on the THC content. Eating it however may take longer for the high to take effect but will last longer.
shiiit when iw as a sophmore i ate a blunt at school and i had these sporadic highs all day it was awesome...i dunno maybe it has something to do with acid reflux.
I *think* since THC isnt water soluble, eating it raw wont have much effect if any. Under heat, the trichomes rupture and the cannabinoids go under a chemical change. Maybe its the boiling point. Im not sure. But cooking it in food while remaining below the vaporization point is what you want to do.
my friend ate some strait and said it got him a body high.. and then I ate 4 g's once.. and I was hunch over in pain for 2 hours.. felt like my stomach got ripped apart
Ive gone through this recently in another thread i believe that the key factor involved here is the sticky chemical nature of cannabinoids. cannabinoids are not digested subcutaneously, you cant insufflate it, and you cant do it through your skin. the trend is that smoking it gets you high, as does heating the weed in oil-type substances. after this the most immediate relationship here is that both these methods are heated. however this is very short sighted, as people completely forget about dissolving weed in alchohol, which requires no heat at all. considering this, the single uniting factor between all these methods is the state which the cannabinoids are in. in all three methods, the cannabinoids have been separated from eachother, and suspended one way or another, more or less, uniformly. on a molecular level, when this occurs, the cannabinoid molecules are suspended seperately from eachother. consequently, they lose their sticky-nature (which is an effect simply caused when molecules of similar type, next to eachother, resist movement away from eachother, i think, so when they are drawn away from eachother by being dissolved into oil, alchohol, or into a homogenous gas/particulate, they are no longer experiencing sticky-force). the stickiness of the molecules, i believe, prevents them from being ingested. eating whole weed -can- get you high, but along with the stickiness issue is the issue of the plant matter which the cannabinoids are on and within. unchewed plant matter (from a durable plant like cannabis) is not quickly digested, and thus you may only digest small amounts, further and further into the solid bud, starting from the trichomes. i honestly think it requires no heat at all. heat merely makes the process of drawing cannabinoids out of their plant matter much more efficient; something which can be done with strong alchohol just as well, and which isnt ultimately necessary in order to get high
... So if I soaked a gram of weed in a shot of 40% 80 proof alcohol, would that work just as good as baking the whole gram or does it need to be stronger? What if you drank some alcohol (maybe 4 shots) and then ate the weed ground up? Would that work just as good? I know that you don't know the answers for sure, but ANY help is good.
