I am Christian, I know what the story says. It says it's okay to stone your women for certain things, or to hold slaves of your captives: Should we take these verses verbatium? No, I don't think so. So if it was culturally accepted to do those things then, why is it that Christians don't feel that way now? This is my point, back in those times of course homosexuality was going to be frowned on, (even my own Church in Rome does so, but I don't agree with it.)

No one is asking you to give up your morals, but the fact is your pushing your morals onto others and politics when they have no business being there.

Don't gloat, I wasn't trying to shut RA up; but Moonjava was annoying. I rather enjoyed the debate after it calmed down. Debate is always fun when it isn't so fierce and aggressive; I should join the debate team at my school .

Real American, Moonjava, and I might be Christians, but they are defenintly (most likely, anything is possible I suppose) not Catholic, I can tell just from reading their posts. Regular Protestant fundementalists. (not insulting anyone, just guessing here.)

 

Animals in nature can be homosexual... my female guinea pig has jumped on my other female guinea pig. I'm not really sure if they were having sex, I didn't stick around to watch. I let them have their privacy.

Then don't have intercourse with people of the same sex. Do you really care if other people do? Why? I promise gay people won't infect you. Really, they are just as normal as you or I. Guess again buddy. You might be one of those "religious" people that are mentioned here. I am not. I do not follow catholicism, babtists, protestants, mormons, or jewish religions. What I follow is The Bible. That "labels" me as a Christain. I go to a church that is a non-denomination church that preches from The Bible. You will never catch me praying to a saint, or Jesus's mother. You may see my dancing at my seat as I praise my Lord. Religion is what was created by man to atempt to controle the people and God. I am Christian.

 

Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. I read it myself, in your bible. If you takee the bible to heart so much, then do you follow everything in it?

 

I didn't start this thread? I am not forcing anything on anyone. It is an unlocked thread, meaning I have everyright to come in and post. What do apple trees produce? Orange trees? Are you sure you are a Christain and have faith in our God? I guess because man happened to be the one that wrote down everything in The Bible when it was said "don't lay with men as you lay with women" you kinda thought he was joking.

Oh, and one more thing. You have now changed it from just homosexual to non-related homosexuals.....related homosexual perverts don't deserve the right to be married? But they love each other. They care about each other. Can't they join your "I am gay and I am proud" marches?

Real American, have you ever thought to... you know, think critically about the doctrine regarding sexuality in the Bible, instead of just taking it at face value? I suppose you'll probably say something along the lines of "I would never do that because my faith is super strong!" but do try to look beyond the Bible every once and a while. Fact is, the reasons why homosexuality is so condemned in that book are because of rather faulty viewpoints in society at the time.

For one, in the ancient society of the Mediterranean, medical people mistakenly believed that every man had only a fixed amount of sperm in his lifetime, they didn't know it replenishes itself. So given the mortality rates of the time, it was believed that sperm was a sacred fluid that was not to be wasted, and each man had a duty to conserve it. Thus, homosexuality was considered a waste of the sacred fluid (so the focus was on male homosexuality, I don't know how much they cared about lesbians), since it obviously can't lead to the production of children, and so there's one big reason why it was condemned back in the day - because of faulty ancient medical logic.

I don't know, man, but from what I am gathering from collective knowledge of the widely accepted Chistian religion, is that the darkside's lookin' pretty alright. I still consider the Bible to be more of an adult story book that tells you what was alright for the author.

I think that whoever decided that homosexuality was wrong a long, long time ago wasn't getting any. Now hear me out on this theory of mine. John Doe wasn't gettin' any...poor John. His hand was developing calluses at this point. To make himself look more desired, he cut the population in half that he could be fucking. "Homosexuality is wrong! I declare!"(Yes, he talked all fancy like that.) With his new found preaching skills, other men, yet not all the men, decided that they can get more ladies if they ignor the men & at least the chicks were SOMEONE. The free thinkers developed the gay community...some prefering men, some prefering women...some both & whatnot. & they lived in division up to today. Atsa little theory of mine.

You actually stand up and dance at your church? Is it Church or is it a concert? I went to a non denominational church near my house that was like that and could not stand it, they even had booths of video games and other games set up. One of many reasons I enjoy being Catholic is becasue I know I am not going to a concert, carnival, or shout fest, but hey, whatever works for you.

Christianity is a religion. You are part of a religion. You might want to think that statement through.

I believe you are right but you are religious? The biggest way that religions try to control people is to get involved in politics the fact that you seem to be pushing a religiously based political agenda seems to imply you are part of the problem.
