I noticed a plant that looks distinctly like Cannabis in a friend's back yard today. It even appears to be in the early stages of bud production. Thing is the leaves are completely round. All the plants I've saw have serrated edges on the leaves. Do round leaves rule out the possibility of it being cannabis?

    hey man,

if you can get a pic of it, i can id it for you (botany major). i wouldnt smoke it tho. what type of leaf formation does it have? pot generally has a 5-7 leaf group. the "bud production" might turn out to be just flowers, or pollen. i wouldnt go as far as smoking it though. wait a while, a couple of weeks, and see what it looks like. if youve ided it as bud, ask the kid, if he doesnt know, ask the parents, (if threre gonna be as open towards weed as to grow it in there garden, i doubt they would deny it), if, by any chance, it belongs to no one, wait for the tell tale signs of the ideal cannabis harvest point (cloudy trychromes, about 50 percent pistil discoloration) and yank that hsit out, dry it, and kik back. who knows, you might get lucky.

Try smoking some to be sure, but make sure your friend knows. Bad weed karma is never good.

What if the plant is highly toxic when inhaled? If I were you I'd have nothing to do with smoking a plant that I don't know about. It could have pollen that could irritate your lungs and make you sick, and a lot of other bad things. You should take a picture and post it lots of people would be happy to ID it, but dont go around smoking things you dont know about. Knowledge is so important when it comes to doing any drug responsibly.

Yeah, I don't have any intent of smoking it. The larger leaves have 7 formations and the smaller ones 5. I've grew before so I'm gonna give it a few more weeks and see how the bud looks. I'm gonna try to get a digicam this weekend.
