    Hey everyone...
I got my ears pierced when I was like 6 witha gun but let the holes close up..
over the summer since I still had the hole me and a friend got a pari of earrings and pushed it through but the left closed up so now I just have my right and my nipples

well my question is since I have ass loads of 14gauges (for my nipples) would it be cool to take one and use it to stretch the hole? I mean I can only imagine what I have now would be upwards of a 20 so it would be a kinda big jump but I want to guage them....so should I start with a 16? I know a head shop that wwill guage stuff for you so should I go witht hem and get the 14 or 16 and have em shove it through for me?

    what do you think?

    Thanks bunches!

I'd go with a 16 (or even 18) first. Less chance of infection and complications. Yeah it may take you a little longer, but it will be worth it. Start with a sixteen and before you know it you'll be able to wear those fourteens.

Yeah I agree !!! Don't go too large & possibly get a blow out
that would suk, it would take longer for it to heal & would hurt
quite abit. Start with an 18/16 to be safe !!! Good luck

    I would go with a 16, I recently went from a 20 to a 16 and didn't have any problems.

Also, I wouldn't have the head shop do it.

I went from the gun piercings in both ears to a 10gauge. It hurt but, not extremely bad. With some neosporin and cleaning they healed fine and pretty quickly. I would say do it. 14 should not be too bad at all.

i had my cartilege pierced with a gun (bad idea in the start..) not sure on gauge.. but i pushed a 14ga captive ring through it quite easily...

but still, id advise the safer routes.

You should probably go to 16 first although I went straight to 14 with no troubles.
I wouldn't reccommend skipping gages though, you'll pay for it later

I agree with everyone else. I went to a 14, and it hurt, but at the time it didn't really cause any problems. But that was a few years ago, and I took my piercings out, and they still haven't fully grown over. I've also had a few infections related to it, so I'd suggest a 16.

Don't waste you time or money on 16g.

Shove the 14g through. Not a big jump at all.

if you're worried abotu saving a whole of 10bucks to do it properly then ya don't need them in the first place. 20/22 to a 14ga is 20/18/16/14.... thats jumping 3 gauges man

i went from a standard gun piercing size to an 8g. it’s not that bad. mine healed fine. just make sure you don’t use O-Rings when you get up higher. they suck. they'll leave no room for your skin to breathe and end up making your ears get infected severely and you'll have to take them out and have disgusting ears for a long while.
im speaking from experience after going from 8g to 4g with O-Rings. uhhggg. i let it heal over, repierced it and stretched directly back to an 8g with no problems when i left out the O-Rings. [IMG]
    i'd say go for it.

well, not to sound like a dick, but i would do none of what any body said. stretching up from the gun piercing would be an annoying, maybe uneven, maybe thin, and costly experience. i highly recommend letting the holes close, then getting them done at whatever size you want to stop at. if you go bigger than a 12 gauge i would say its fine to just pierce the area. some artists will be like "i cant pierce through scar tissue", but the reality is, they can. and it will be fine. unless theres an abnormal amount of scar tissue. you can pierce as big at 2 gauge. 4 gauge needle, followed by a 2 gauge taper. you do have the option to have them scalpelled to zero or double zero, but that might compromise the integrity of the area. it might end up thin. i've had my lobes pierced at 2 gauge, and it really isnt painful, and it heals just as quickly as a 14 gauge piercing. and that stuff about the o-rings, if you keep it clean you dont need to worry much. unless you react to the urithane. and if you do, you always have the option of silicone o-rings. there really isnt much of an option (at least a comfortable one) after 8 gauge for jewelry that doesnt have o-rings. double flairs - they arent the most comfortable to get in, or out. rings - heavy. barbells - heavy. good luck with whatever you choose to do :)

no, you got it right. [IMG] i know it sounds weird but i used a dragon claw to do the stretching. it was probably a bad idea, but its done now and worked fine.

maybe i was just allergic to the urithane. hmm... i didnt think of that. im looking for 6 or 4g captive rings right now so i dont have to deal with the o-rings.
