    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Tool
    Mudvayne (L.D. 50)
    Primus

I play bass, so i really am only intrested in bands that have great bassists.... Tool's bassist uses a pick, im not too fond of that, but he is a great bassist nonetheless.

why do people use PQ for the abreviation? Where is the P in Quebec? or is it supposed to mean Provence of/du Quebec? so confusing, when I read that it always makes me instinctually anounciate Partie Quebecois in my head
but I digress, off the top of my head, in no particular order:

    Arcade Fire
    Broken Social Scene
    the Rheostatics
    Ween
    Nick Cave
    Iron and Wine
    Jean Leloup
    Wilco
    Blind Melon
    Beck

feel free to argue my classification of any of these bands as Alternative/Indie, because I don't really follow "the scene" and have no bloody clue what constitutes either anymore, I'm too busy just trying to listen to good music

    peace

US Maple is an insane and incredible band that makes the weirdest music west of Sonic Youth. Everyone should listen to them.
