I mean, like littering, producing pollution, exc. I don't think it will. That's terribly sad, too. Really makes ya think how selfish we are...
if it were profitable to not litter and to not cause pollution humans would stop in a heart beat, but it's not so no, probably not...
I'm trying to conjure up a system that shifts the costs of packaging wastes from the taxpayer to the consumer, see link in my sig. I don't have all the details worked out yet but hey it's a start
hey i dont think were ever going to stop until it is far to late. all the big organisations and the government ever seem to care about is money not the environment and the people of that country. fuck the government and fuck the people that are destroying the world. There are to few of us people that would do anything to try and save the environment. peace x x
The sad truth is, there aren't nearly enough people that care enough in this world. As it's already been said, money is motivation. If every trash receptacle gave you 25 cents for each item you threw away, I think people would be lining up!
I agree with most people here but i'll put it in my own words - most leaders and businesspeople today are more interested in the self- satisfying ideas of power and money than the idea of preserving the earth for their children. If we as ordinary citizens can take control and put money behind the important issues, then there is hope. Its probably too late though.
Well I can't say for definite, but I think when the oil runs out, civilization will suffer a major crash or a series of them and people will slowly start living more natural lives. I don't believe humans can destroy nature. We can and are crippling the Earths natural system, but like all good things, it will recover and one day reign stronger than ever.
i agree. do you think its already too late to reverse the damage coorporations have done to the environment? here's a thought, i dont think a lot of people care about the environment cuz their religion and/or beliefs decieve them to think that the earth, and everything else on it, was made for humans to "reap" and "run" and what not. which is bullshit! we are not the only form of life on the planet. other animals just want to live, and keep the chain going, then die. why do a lot of people think that just because we are formed with the most complex brain, that means they own everything on earth. that makes me so mad!! >:-/ *grumble*
Hey i think nature will fight back eventually but it has been hit hard by humans because people cant see what they are doing. Money has powered people so there is no going back from what they have done. BASTARDS peace x
I would love to believe that there will be a global awakening and we all get together and heal the wounds we made... But lately my hope fails me.
When I see litter, it's not the actual litter that bothers me. It's the way the litterer thinks that is worrisome.
I hope people stop littering, the other day I was walking with my mum and around a school we sow more than a thousand of chewing gums on the floor, the shocking thing was it was dark at the time. But having said this I am not suggesting that I have not littered before - I guess I probably did it a lot when I was younger and did not know about the environmental issues about littering - maybe its not so much about people not caring about the environment but I don't think everyone really knows what they are doing when they litter. Since I learnt what litter I hardly ever litter. But is it okay to litter fruit??
This is a really complicated question - If you are going to litter fruit, try to do it in parks and gardens that are manicured because if the seeds grow into plants (which in the wild might be classified as introduced weeds depending what country you're in) they can then be weeded, whereas if you litter in wild native forest it could spread as a noxious weed. I think it is good to litter fruit, or save it as compost, because we are now taking more substance out of the earth than we put back in. If fruit is going into the bin then it is off to the dump and the nutrients are lost forever.
The time will come soon that we will be forced to stop our unsustainable ways. Peak Oil, culture collapse. I think it's idiotic to worry about 'saving the earth' because the earth will never need saving. We need to worry about saving ourselves. Pollution, greed, hate, unsustainable living...these are killing us. Yes, they kill other things too, but they also kill us. We can change that, and soon, we will have no other choice, if we wish to live.
When people talk about conserving oil it doesn't really make sense. Its gonna run out soon anyway and by not using it your just letting someone else use it. Saying that, I would say it's a good idea to try and get away from a dependance on it.
Yeah, whenever my dad or sister take fruit with them in the car they just toss it out the window on the highway or beside the road. They try not to do it near houses or businesses on busier roads when there's a feild or or something. And when we go out for walks, we just toss them into the trees or under bushes or something. it's usually just apple or pear cores that kind of thing, so we never considered it a big deal.
Hey, no problem. Just remember, the national parks service near you should have information on what fruit not to litter. If apples and pears aren't native to your region they could be harmful by spreading weeds and also animals can become sick and even die on the fruit if they are not used to eating it.
