Haha i tricked you. Reality TV is a big waste of a channel. Whatever happened to good TV. Oh I know Reality TV happened.
in general tv is a waste, but i'm curious to know what 'good' tv was. though i am guilty of watching every survivor episode ever there will be.
I really have to agree. Reality TV is rubbish, and worse than other television because it is made pretty much with the sole purpose of making money. Maybe it's just personal preference, but I really don't care who is best at doing some uninteresting activity, whether that be building a house or living on an island, or being beautiful, or being made to be beautiful or whatever. I mean at least dramas pretend their producers are interested in goals other than financial gain. They have a story, developed characters and try to be creative entertainment. Also dramas, because of the expensive formats they often shoot on (film, HD), the many members of a skilled crew, and lots of costly equipment there's always the risk that the show's not going to be any good and money's going to be lost. So when the show is pitched the investors have to believe that there is actually something in the show that is going to pull such an audience that there will be profits. Not to belittle creators of reality shows but all you really need to make one is a camera and an editing suite. They cost very little to make and lots of people watch them. Money is made.
