i need these questions to be answered. lol, i don't mean to sound demanding, no on HAS to do anything. but it would help. you don't have to answer them all, and you can answer them to the best of your knowledge.

    1) What goes into writing your poetry?
    2) How does your mood affect the poetry you write?
    3) Which mood is easiest to write under?
    4) How do people react to your words, depending on the mood of your poetry?
    5) Do you feel that words are powerful tools, with both the power to inspire and destroy?
    6) Do you consider people's reactions while writing your poetry?
    7) Do you not allow some of the poems your write to be read, and why?
    8) What is your general definition of poetry?

I put my thoughts and emotions into my poetry, as well as my knowledge of life. At first, I give little thought to form or structure, and just write. Later, I go back and plan.

My moods always affects the poetry I write. They determine the feel, and even structure, of my poems. For example: if I am feeling deppressed, my poems tend to be longer and more free flowing-- with more adjectives. The happier I am, the shorter and more structured my poems are. I try very hard to convey my emotions when I write, because I feel that writing is emotion expressed creatively in words.

Deppression is easiest for me to write under. The more desperate and extreme my emotions are, the easier it is to portray them accurately, and with feeling.

People seem to react to my words only if they can relate to them, or if they strongly disagree with them. it makes sense, after a fashion.

    Yes. With a passion.

No. I write for myself. But when I read and publish, I consider who my audience is, and then I select pieces that I hope will move them.

Yes. Usually the more distance I have from my poems, the harder they are to share. I want people to feel what I am feeling. I do not share the poems that do not move me. I also don't share some poems written for specifc people, as they are private. And there are some poems written in extreme anger or hatred that I don't share. I want people to feel that pain sometimes, but not at the cost of actually hurting them. I hope that made some amount of sense.

Poetry is words in a style seperate from prose, projecting thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

I hope this helped. Good luck on your paper. If there's anything else I can do to help, either IM me here, or email me at thewrongmary@yahoo.com

I'm not in an ACTUAL poetry course {since im not in college yet but am a self-proclaimed poet} but id can answer these questions as they apply to me personally.

    1) What goes into writing your poetry?
i am one of the people who are extremely turned off by rhyming poetry.... it feels too forced and seems to take more of the raw emotion out of the work... for a good poem or even music for that matter has to have that intense emotion in it. it's nothing without it

    2) How does your mood affect the poetry you write?
I generally write when I am under major stress which tends to show through my work. the mood flows from you to the pen to the paper so anything that is within you... ends up in the poem

    3) Which mood is easiest to write under?
id have to say confusion, angst, sadness, frustration

    4) How do people react to your words, depending on the mood of your poetry?
if it's written with true emotion, it's felt in the reader as their own

    5) Do you feel that words are powerful tools, with both the power to inspire and destroy?
Words are very powerful. . . people take what i said or written to heart... whether they admit it or not

    6) Do you consider people's reactions while writing your poetry?
I write for myself and if i feel like sharing something i will if not....... then i wont.... poetry is one of the only escapes i have along with music so i feel really strongly for both...... ive written about people and if they read it and dissapproved then o well. i did it for me at that time about how i was feeling..... noone can dictate how i feel

    7) Do you not allow some of the poems your write to be read, and why?
I have some very emotional poems that i need for strength and such and ones about trying times ive been through noone knows about... i never let anyone read my poetry until last year..... i have some trust issues and i need to have the trust before i share

    8) What is your general definition of poetry?
it needs to be genuine, heartfelt, pure, rwa emotion. it has to reach out a strike a chord within people. with that...... people are more likely to relate........ poetry is an expression of ourselves.
