This movie choked on smelly donkey dung. You would have to be on something to enjoy that pile of shit movie.
it was interesting. you definitely can't compare the two though. this one was more on the book than the musical original story from the 70s. i wouldn't neccessary buy this one, but it was interesting to watch it nonetheless. johnny depp's voice was freaky, so yeah it was different.
Hey, this movie was excellent. Depp and Christopher Lee did outstanding jobs. Love it that the underlying theme of the movie is anti-materialistic and that the bad kids represent gluttony, greed, disrespect and vanity.
Tim burton is an artistic genius. This was just his depiction, and I think it worked well for him. It lacks his well renouned eerie tones, but makes up for it with humor and some amazing talent in the cast. It looks unreal, because it is. Burton is hardly the type to make something MORE realistic and mundane. Thank god for that. We need more people like him in this world.
the movie was alright, johnny depp is a great actor, and tim burton has his moments, but unfortunately the movie was just alright, they should have just saved all the money they spent on making it and digitally remastered and released the original. that would have been a better hour and a half. for me anyway.
The original was digitally remastered and released over a year ago. Twice in different aspect ratios as well. I really enjoyed this new version very much.
makes me sound pretty pathetic but i was pretty freaked by that oompa loompa! i think hes the last person i EVER want to meet
