I'm listening to some Elliott Smith now! Always good stuff... even if it does make you want to off yourself. :D

It makes you want to live a better life while making you want to off yourself. Dammit.

No matter how much I like someone, I lose all interest and respect for them if they kill them self.

Geez, if everyone loves him so much, you might want to check out Earlimart's cd-Trebe and Tremble. It was dedicated to Elliot Smith so the band kinda delve into his style of music.

Thats a bit ignorant and close minded. When people kill themselves they're at a level of misery that is very hard to get down from, I dont think Elliot Smith, being an ex junkie and all, really had any control over himself.
But I love his music, it's really beautiful.

    That's cool
but it's definetly open that it wasn't a suicide.

    Haha,
No one is really positive what kind of death it was.
A lot of people think he killed himself.
A lot of people think he was stabbed.

Its really neither ignorant nor close minded of me. Been there, done pretty much all of it. Ergo, because I lived the life I have, fought the addictions and mental problems I have, I do feel that it is completely within my sphere of knowledge and relevance to say, without a doubt, that suicide is not the only answer. That killing yourself is perhaps the most selfish thing a person can do... and that help is always there. Suicide is weak, cheap and totally degrading to the person who kills themselves, and, in this case, to his fans. He stole from them all the music he might have made IF he had care more, fought harder or even just asked for some help. Hence, my lack of respect.

Hm....whatev and what not...none the less...depressing or not..elliot smith remains a musical genius in my book...his covers of because and jealous guy are great along with his own stuff...you should check those out if you like him. I think he did stab himself personally...just because the way he was....

    Hello people..

Je suis Will. I live in London and am forever an Elliott Smith fan.

I've recently made my own tribute site, it has taken some time due to the fact that i stepped on my 128mb piece of ram, by accident. However, i still blame floorboards. Anyway.. the link at the moment is http://distortedreality.50webs.com/ . Would appreciate if anyone could hop along down there and possible leave a message on the guestbook, perhaps about the site in general or maybe about polar ice caps. anything will suffice.

    merci beaucoup and take care,

    Xo
