I want to take up yoga and have some dvds at my home...but is it better to actual be in a class? or can i truly experience the spiritual aspect of it from a dvd?

Hatha yoga is as spiritual as any exercise, but some programs do more inner insight or work I guess, so those are sort of spiritual. But that said, some people need to enhance their mind with extraneous things, or video guidance, while others find the pure quiet of their inner mind without distraction more comfortable. Frankly, I always used Iyengar and just did the book exercises until I was familiar with them. I also did some Ashtanga Vinyasa for awhile. I like working alone with a book. I can correct myself without peer perusal and without any outward distraction as yoga is really mean to be done.
