hey, i'm tracy. 19 f from chicago. I'm 5'4 158lbs and I want to lose about 15-20 lbs by the end of febuary... I've not been the best of buddies before but I'd like to try... My basic plan is: stair climbing, elliptical trainer, walking, tai chi, yoga, rebounding, weight lifting, and floor exercises for abs, arse, and legs. I'm thinking of doing cardio 4-6 days a week for 20-40 mins, weight lifting 2-4 times a week, tai chi/yoga 4-7 days a week, and floor exercises 2-3 days a week. later! Tracy
oop. I'm also going to cut my calories to 1400-1600 cals a day and after I lose 5-10 lbs I'll probably cut them again to about 1200-1400 cals.
I have a challenge goingn with some good friends right now. I am trying to adapt my life to be as healthy as possible. if you're interested either talk to me on MSn, or e-mail me. big_carl@hotmail.com FYI Physical activity is the number one way to alter your body composition.
I´m not exactly sure what a weight loss buddy has to do ... but hey why not be one??! *g* Is this still a matter, meep meep??
howdy weep... well... thus far I've lose 2 lbs in like 4 days... whatever... maybe I'll keep it off. I would say yet weep it is a matter... I am "stuck" at 158 and I'd rather be around 140-150. I need to do better about actually eatting food... I'm doing rather well at staying away from unreal foods. Sadly, I'm having troubles with late night snacking, esp because I don't even wake up until like 11-2 pm... I've been drinking ginsing tea and fenugreek, coriander, fennel tea which are supposed to help with metabolism, detoxification, and removing extra water from my system.. I've exercised about 2 times since starting this thing...
I also just generally need to be more active... I think that my lymph circulation isn't what it should be...but that's with good reason... I barely do any activity period.
oh ya by the by, a weight loss buddy just kind of inquires about one's progress and is possibly also trying to change his or her habits in diet and or exercise.
I'd love to join. Mind having more than one buddy? It would be cool to have a little support thread for everyone trying to lose weight. I'm 6'0, 150 (down from 165) and trying to lose the last 10 while increasing my cardiovascular health, muscle tone and overall health.
certainly lacy, you are welcome to be my buddy... good work on losing 15 lbs.. I'm hoping to do that by march. I've heard that winter is not a good time to diet.. I hope I'm doing it well.... In other news,Today I got sick after eating diner-style breakfast food... not fun... I think I'm not supposed to eat things like that... good to know.. =). I'm going to try to get a little exercise in while its still decently warm out today. I'm going to a party later tonight...
i'm considering doing a weigh in every thursday... as that is the last day that i got on a scale....=) you are welcome to weigh in similarly...or not..whatev.
There´s a weigh in thread here in deadbear´s gym... omg guys, I went to the gym friday and yesterday evening after 4 month again and my muscels are aching so much now... I´m so out of the training...
I'd like to join this buddy thread as well, if that's acceptable? meepmeep, I hope things are going well with your weight loss efforts. I can relate very well to running into difficulties over and over. I think I'm finally starting to get on track after a year of yo-yo'ing back and forth. I burned 600 calories on the elliptical trainer this morning with the interval format (I tweak the default settings to go higher). I can certainly relate to the sore muscles after being on hiatus. Kudos to you, weep. *thumbs up* To the rest of you in this thread, I wish you luck! Stay motivated!
join in soul!!! feel free. I've been eatting ok... last night some girls took me out to dinner. I ordered two appetizers and soup. Falafel, vegetable kabobs, and lentil soup...boy oh boy!!!
Cool, and thanks! I hear ya about winter being a harder time to lose weight..especially since I LOVE to bake during this time o' year. Anyway...(don't wanna talk about that too much or I'll start getting hungry) The past week has gone pretty well in terms of both being active and eating healthy. I'm trying to eat smaller meals, more often to keep up my metabolism and prevent me from getting that "omigod I'm so hungry" feeling. Oh, and more protein. Seems to be working out so far. I had a crazy two hour hike near/on a beach and now I'm tired and sandy, but it was a great workout. I'm weighing myself once a week, every thursday morning and I hope this coming thursday will have the scale showing my efforts. As further motivation, I have a bet going with someone with the goal of me losing 10 pounds or dropping a pants size by Feb. 16th...and I HAVE to win.
this christmas break has not been quite what I wanted it to be....but its still been good. I am going to try to get into a "normal" sleeping habit and to try to dedicate more time to getting things done. At least I've been reading...thats good to do. I've heard that getting your sleep pattern to a more natural state is helpful in losing weight and of course regaining health. I ate a very nice dinner today... I didn't eat much beyond it but I cooked it and while everything was not "perfect" it all was good. I need to eat meals more often... we'll see.
I wanna cook some real meals on weekend, to freeze them. Then I have something good and real (without much work and efford of time) after work for some weeks or so. Cooking your own meals is quite important to be sure that you eat the things you´re supposed to, the good stuff. And it can be fun at times...
so I weigh like....158 again... I'm not too worried though. I haven't been exercising or drinking my fenugreek tea to get rid of excess water... I've been eating alright/good though. I've got a little over a week of winter vacation left.. I think I should try to get some exercise in... whats new with you all?
Haha, why do I do this to myself? I just spent the last 20 minutes drooling over posts in the 'Munchies' forum. Maybe it's good for me though; to strengthen my will power.
Oh yeah, on a different note, I weighed myself thursday morning and sure enough, two pounds were gone. I'm going to win.
