i think that its great how once the UK hip group was the pivot of skips grand plan for the hip forums, how we once represented a plan for the hip community not only online, but through our gathering and exceptance of peace and hippy values off line, and meeings and communty and i think its a shame how skip has previously close this forum without trying to sort out the flaming problem. i know for one how many have abandoned this forum and set up there own, surely this should not be an insult, but rather a reason why the uk hipforum, and skip should work harder to reinforce the concept of community, peace and friendship that the hippy community stands for, rahter than closing it at the first sign of trouble, further more im glad that it has re opened, such a closer would have been a shame and a condemnation of the dying state of the hippy community in britain along with the online hipforums as a whole. more so, i speak for a lot of peope here, i have posted on the hipforums for the last 6 years, since more or less it had began and i think without the uk hipforum i would be forced to resign all together. even though my style has evolved beyond being a hippy, it has still kept my interest in ethical issues afloat, if this form closed it would be a dier shame for all of british ethical moral and hippy community. adios
Not sure where you got the idea that the UK forum was ever part of a grand plan (other than to get like minded people together into communities). At first it was just another forum. But as more people discovered this site and this forum, it became more than a forum. You all are responsible for that achievement (not any single individual). I helped out by highlighting this forum, placing it way at the top of the list of forums, making it a community, adding the subforums, adding the UK Hip Ones usergroup, never interfering with the moderation, encouraging the members to meetup (as I once tried to do), etc. Without the hipforums overall popularity, which comes as an outgrowth of hippy.com (which has little to do with the uk forum at all), there would never have been a uk forum that succeeded or this site for that matter. Whether a community returns to this forum is again up to you. As far as I'm concerned, there are many "communities" on this site, besides it being one overall world-wide community of hip souls. I don't favor one community over another, as everyone is equal in my eyes.
Did the UK Arts and Crafts subforum thingy get deleted too? Can i find it in the archives at all? I only ask coz i posted a whole big selection of poems in one thread on there that i need to retrieve.
